Talking with Mrs. Tompkins
Dear Delone Catholic Families,

Students have earned a Freedom Friday Dress Down Day for March 19. Thank you to all the parents who completed and reported the daily COVID screen. Although restrictions in Pennsylvania and surrounding states may be loosening, we must continue to forge ahead with screening, proper mask wearing and social distancing.

March 31st - Virtual Half Day
Easter Break is Thursday, April 1 until Monday, April 5. Students will return to school on Tuesday, April 6. On March 31, we will follow the virtual half-day schedule. Students are dismissed at noon. All school offices will be closed from noon to 3:30 for staff in-service.

Health and Safety Update
We received notification yesterday of a positive case of COVID-19 in our school community. Per guidance from the Department of Health, the individual has been quarantined. Any individual who was in close contact with this person (less than 6 feet for more than 15 minutes) has already been notified by school administration of quarantine protocols and any other health and safety measures needed before returning to school. There are two active cases of COVID-19 at the school.

Delone Catholic will continue to follow the COVID-related health and safety procedures as outlined in the school’s re-opening plan as well as seek guidance from the Department of Health and the Diocese of Harrisburg.

On Sunday, spring begins and Monday marks the start of the fourth quarter. With these wonderful new beginnings, we count our blessings of being able to be with our students each day, to see them in the hallways, in the lunchroom, on our athletic fields and in our classrooms. Let us continue to pray for the health and safety of all our school community and those affected by this terrible pandemic.
May God Bless You,
Donna Tompkins P '06, P'10

Bishop's Lenten Chats
For four Wednesdays of Lent, Bishop Gainer joins with seniors at all of the Diocesan high schools for an hour-long lecture and discussion on a variety of faith topics (everything from exorcisms to politics to how to stay Catholic in college). Topics were suggested by the senior religion classes throughout the schools. The discussions are held via Zoom, and Bishop noted that his favorite part is hearing from the students about what questions they have and what is on their minds.
Our virtue of the week is RESILIENCE - the strength to be able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions. This week, practice positive self-talk at least once every day. Tell yourself you can do it, that you are capable of achieving that goal.
