Talking with Mrs. Tompkins
Dear Delone Catholic Families,

Friday will be another Freedom Friday dress down day. Please share this information with your student(s) and have them follow the dress down day guidelines in the School Handbook. We appreciate the students' and parents' commitment to performing their daily screening.

Water Main Directives (Reminder)
Work has begun on the water main outside of our school. Oxford Avenue is currently closed. As we communicated previously, water will NOT be cut-off to the school, however the project will interrupt our normal arrival and dismissal procedures. Students will still need to enter and exit through the main entrance of the school on South Oxford Avenue. Families who are dropping off students or picking them up will need to find a parking space to do this. In the morning, we ask that you do not park in the school parking lot, since those spaces are reserved for students and faculty members. You may pull into the parking lot to drop your student off near the walkway to the front entrance. In the afternoon, you may use available spaces in the parking lot to wait for your student(s) to be dismissed. There may also be available parking on South Street. Please be patient and use caution with these temporary new arrival and dismissal procedures. Many students and faculty members will be walking into and around the school during arrival and dismissal. We will keep you abreast of the project’s progress as best as we can.

Updated Health and Safety Information
We have received some updates to our health and safety guidelines from the Diocese of Harrisburg regarding students or faculty members who have had COVID-19. If a student or faculty member has tested positive for COVID-19 and has recovered, then they will be treated differently if they are identified as a close contact. Those who have tested positive and recovered must still wear a mask, maintain social distance and practice good hygiene procedures. However, he or she will not need to quarantine after a close contact if that contact is with 90 days of the date of clearance from COVID-19. Please understand that this does not apply to presumed positive cases of COVID-19, only those with documented positive test results.

Snow Make-Up Day & Virtual Wednesdays
Monday, February 15 is a snow make-up day and will be a virtual B day. By incorporating virtual Wednesdays into our monthly schedule, we have seen a benefit in a reduced number COVID cases and need for contact tracing at Delone Catholic . We have planned to keep virtual Wednesdays during the month of February and will reevaluate for March near the end of the month. On February 3, 10, 17 and 24, we will follow the virtual half-day schedule with morning instruction and independent work in the afternoon.

Friday, January 29 is the annual March for Life. While our Spiritual Life Director is working in conjunction with our Respect Life Club to have some virtual participation in this event, I am sharing a LINK for a March for Life Novena.

May God Bless You,
Donna Tompkins P '06, P'10

From the Spiritual Life Office
Our virtue theme this week is that of PERSPECTIVE - the strength to have a true understanding of the relative importance of things. Many times we can forget the importance of the process, the journey, the time together in whatever we are doing as a group or team. The bond of a true community where each person truly loves one another, cares for one another and is willing to sacrifice, sweat and work tirelessly for one another. Those moments are what help us gain the perspective of what is truly important in life. This week, listen to your grandparents, an older teacher or an elderly neighbor this week.
