Talking with Mrs. Tompkins
Dear Delone Catholic Families,
Friday will be another Freedom Friday dress down day. Please share this information with your student(s) and have them follow the dress down day guidelines in the School Handbook. We appreciate the students' and parents' commitment to performing the daily screening.
Virtual Learning Days: Clarification on Attendance & Snow Days
This week, rather than closing the school for all students due to hazardous weather conditions, we opted to have students participate in a virtual learning day. This allows us to count the day as a school day, and therefore not have to make up the day later in the school year. Please note that on any virtual learning day, parents are still asked to report any attendance issues for their student(s) to Mrs. Hefner. If we do not hear from you, and your student is late to class or is not present for class, it will be recorded as unexcused which carries discipline sanctions.
In addition, when a virtual learning day is used in lieu of a weather-related closure, all students are expected to report to virtual school that day. If the school district where your student resides is closed, Delone Catholic students are still expected to report to virtual class or be recorded as absent for the day. Since this is unchartered territory for us, we appreciate your patience and support as we address issues as they arise.
Catholic Schools Week (Rescheduled Activities)
Snow is usually an unwelcome guest during Catholic Schools Week, and this year was no different. We have made a few changes to the CSW activities and donation drives in light of the virtual days we had at the start of the week. The spirit-wear dress down day with $3 donation to the Mission Collection for the Society of the Propagation of Faith has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Feb. 9. We are also accepting monetary donations for Girl Scout Cookies for soldiers overseas as well as donations for essential hospital workers including individually packaged granola bars, fruit packs, chocolate chips, peanuts and protein bars. The collection will end next Friday.
Current Student Re-Registration
Re-registration for current students will take place in early March. You will be receiving an email with an online link to complete and pay for registration for your student. Our tuition rates for the 2021-22 school year are available by clicking HERE and on the school website under Admissions/Affordability. We do sincerely appreciate your investment in your student's education at Delone Catholic, and we strive daily to make that education affordable to all those who want it for their children. Please remember that we have many generous donors and benefactors who believe in the education of our students at Delone Catholic and have provided us funding for tuition assistance for students who qualify. The deadline for application for tuition assistance is March 1.
Each week, I witness the continued dedication our faculty and staff.  I would like to take a moment and thank all of these individuals who work and support Delone Catholic every day. I truly appreciate their commitment to educate and challenge our students academically, spiritually, socially, athletically and aesthetically. As always I am grateful for your support in these endeavors.
May God Bless You,

From the Spiritual Life Office
Our virtue this week is CHARITY - the strength to do good for others. We want to grow stronger in the virtue of charity and develop the habit of looking for ways to do good for others. This week, live the virtue of charity by complimenting your Dad or Mom on his or her cooking.
In this month when we celebrate Valentine’s Day, all of our virtues stem from the virtue of charity (love). As a family, ask for the intercession of the Blessed Mother to grow in love of her Son and of others as you commit to praying Marian prayers together: the Rosary, the Magnificat, or the Salve Regina. Learn more about saints who embody the virtue of charity: St. Teresa of Calcutta, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Martha, and St. Joseph.
