Rev. Laura’s birthday is January 5. In celebration, we will be making cards after worship on Sunday, January 4. We'll have forms available to fill out for “50 things we love about Laura.” If you would like to email us your wishes for Laura to the office (we will fill it in for you), please send to Eileen in the church office at (staidansalexandria@gmail.com). We are also taking a collection for gift cards so she can buy items she might need as she adjusts to being home. If you would like to contribute, leave a contribution in the offering plate or mail into the office with the note “Laura’s birthday.” Thank you!

Inclement Weather Policy

Just a reminder that St. Aidan's follows the Fairfax County Public Schools inclement weather policy. When FCPS is closed, the church is closed and all in person activities are cancelled or postponed.

  • Staff will work remotely in the event that the office is closed due to inclement weather.
  • Decisions about whether or not to conduct a Sunday service will be determined by road conditions and whether there is power in the neighborhood.
  • Please stay tuned to your email, or check the St. Aidan's website (www.staidansepiscopal.com) for updates or information about services and/or virtual offerings.

We will do our best to create a safe space to gather, but know that lifting up prayers from the safety of your home will sometimes be the best decision!

INFORMATION ON PHISHING

Some parishioners were recently targets of phishing attacks from Rev. Cochran's email address. Phishing is a scam where people are deceived into revealing sensitive information or giving money. St. Aidan’s will NEVER contact you by email with a request to send money or purchase gift cards, nor will we ask for personal verification information by email. If you think you have been the target of a phishing attack, do not hesitate to contact the church office or Rev. Rebecca.

Please see graphic here on a way to send a report of phishing through any gmail accounts. If it's reported as phishing, future emails will also automatically block the sender.

You can also report any/all interactions with scammers to the FBI via this link (https://www.ic3.gov/).

In the Sanctuary at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday and Friday mornings

Those who seek to include meditation in their weekly practice often find it easier to do so in the company of others. We light a candle and spend 20 minutes in silence. Come regularly, or come from time to time. All are welcome!

Weeknight Compline

via Zoom Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:00 p.m.

We also offer evening prayer every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at

7:00 pm via zoom. If you are interested in this shared prayer practice, email Eileen Myers at staidansalexandria@gmail.com to receive

the link for Zoom. Come regularly, or come from time to time.

All are welcome!
