Dear St. Aidan's Family,
This Sunday we will celebrate All Saints Day, on the unusual occasion that November 1st falls on a Sunday. All Saints Day was originally called "All Hallow's Day," a Christian celebration of “all holies,” or people who had died faithfully to Christ. It is of course preceded by “All-hallow evening”--Halloween!
On Sunday, we will remember those in our community who have died in the last year and those deaths that are still particularly poignant to us. We might consider a saint to be someone who has done something particularly remarkable or miraculous in their Christian life (and we have days devoted to that in the year!), a “saint” is considered anyone in the community of followers of Jesus. Who or what has inspired you? How might you inspire someone else with your life? As you consider this, let this blessing from our Book of Occasional Services inspire your reflections: “May God, who has given us, in the lives of [God’s] saints, patterns of holy living and victorious dying, strengthen your faith and devotion, and enable you to bear witness to the truth against all adversity. Amen.
In peace,
Rebecca+

Well done to everyone who supported the Bishop's Visitation! Bishop Stevenson baptized Samantha Merwin; confirmed Ford Ferry, Alex Foos, and Camias Poteet; and received Gerry Boling and Jody Preston into this Church.
Many thanks to Christina Mazzanti and Jennifer Smaha for preparing a beautiful lunch, with help from Eileen Myers and Mary Jane Guffey in setting up White Hall.
We want to thank those who helped with flowers for the luncheon as well.
| | |
Please welcome Jennifer Smaha as our newest Vestry member. Jennifer was appointed by the Vestry and she is filling the position after Rebecca Thomas resigned her seat. We thank her for agreeing to serve in this role.

St. Aidan's, Focus Music, and WFMA are excited to welcome Lilt back to St. Aidan's on November 14 at 7:00 p.m. Lilt is the Irish traditional music duo of Tina Eck on flute and tin whistle and Keith Carr on bouzouki, tenor banjo, and mandolin. They play the traditional dance music of Ireland - jigs, reels, hornpipes, the occasional slow air or vocal number. Their performances capture the essentials of Irish traditional music: boundless energy, wildness and melancholy. Lilt has appeared in concert throughout the eastern U.S., with performances at such notable local venues as The Embassy of Ireland, The Kennedy Center, The Birchmere, The Institute of Musical Traditions, Blackrock Center for the Arts, as well as numerous music festivals.
Tickets can be purchased at https://wfma.net/Lilt26.htm
Please Check out Focus Music, and the WFMA website for other local shows.
