Orange Shirt Day

Orange Shirt Day grew from a young girl’s story of having her new orange shirt taken away on her first day of school at the St. Joseph Mission residential school in 2013. Orange Shirt Day also sets the stage for anti-racism and anti-bullying policies for the coming school year, and brings First Nations, local governments, schools and communities together in the spirit of reconciliation.
