As we conclude our first week of full-days, I'm pleased to report that it's been a wonderful start to the year. Your children are enthusiastic and have transitioned well into the new year. We are in the swing of things at St. A's!
Today, we celebrated First Friday Mass, a wonderful part of our school's spiritual education. Our eighth graders & upper schoolers led us in prayer. Thank you to them for doing a great job! As it is tradition, they hosted a reception in Stapleton Hall for parents afterwards.
During the reception, parents had the opportunity to meet Ellen Brezovsky, the Executive Director of New Canaan CARES. This is an independent, nonprofit community organization whose purpose is to advance the health and well being of youth and families. It provides responsive educational programs that support and strengthen parenting skills, positive youth development and health lifestyles. NC CARES provides a vital service to the community. I'm grateful for their support of St. A's. More to come during the year on our partnership with the organization.
This week we had a band assembly to introduce the students to the band program. Registration information was sent home yesterday to grades 3 and above. Music is an important part of a child's development and education. I hope you and your child(ren) will consider taking advantage of this opportunity.
I hope to see you all at Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 11. We will start promptly at 7pm.
