From Mrs. Rowley
Please join us on Friday for our fourth annual Trunk-or-Treat! Come in costume, decorate your car and be prepared to collect candy! Thanks to our wonderful social committee for their great organization of this fun event. Please note: we will have a special box at this event to collect spare candy to send to the troops.
There is no school this Friday. Our faculty will go on a pilgrimage to Baltimore, tour Mother Seton's house, and have Mass in the chapel where she took her final vows. How wonderful for our school staff to meditate on the life and vocation of the great founder of Catholic education in this country.
Next Wednesday, (Halloween!) we will have a dress down day to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Michael. For a minimum donation of $1 students may dress in orange, black, purple or green. There should be no Halloween costumes, makeup or hair dye. Our 8
th
grade will be on a field trip and should be in uniform.
Please join us on November 1
st
, All Saints Day for school Mass and a procession of 2
nd
grade saints!
The week of November 11 we will celebrate Discover Catholic Schools Week. That Friday, November 16, we will have an open house at 9:00 am to include some light refreshments, a Q and A and a tour of the school. Please help spread the word to friends and neighbors about our gem of a school!

We are only ten days away from the end of our gala fundraiser with Mixed Bag Designs! In your Wednesday folder you will receive a flyer to assist with frequently asked questions regarding the fundraiser. You are welcome to turn in your catalog orders to the office any time until November 2nd.
Here is one question that is not on the flyer....Why do we need a gala fundraiser? Great question! The gala is a huge undertaking and it is our most important (and enjoyable) fundraising event of the year. A successful gala allows our school to provide things like
teacher bonuses, iPads, laptops and laptop carts, a microphone and sound system, smart boards, and assorted supplies for classrooms.
These are necessary, and incredible resources for our school, and they are not possible without a successful gala. Accordingly, to orchestrate the gala, we must have funds for upfront costs, for things like catering, decorations, printing, auction software fees, etc.
Sadly, out of our school of over 200, only 16 students are registered on the fundraiser website. Please take this last week or so to promote this fundraiser to increase our sales before the fundraiser ends.
Your participation is greatly needed and much appreciated!
God Bless,
Sharon Driscoll,
2019 Gala Chair

Our ANNUAL COAT AND WINTER WEAR DRIVE will run from 1 November through 30 November. Please start thinking about cleaning those coats and winter wear that your family will no longer be wearing. We again ask you to donate only washed or dry-cleaned items which you would have your own family wear. We love to get brand new items as well! Contributions from St. Ambrose School have been wonderful in the past years, so let's make it another very successful drive to help those in need.

From the Editor
Please make sure to read the Buzz every week. There's a lot of great things in it. Also, please, send in YOUR submissions! Submissions are due by Mondays by 5pm. I accept submissions from teachers, staff, and parents. If you know of something interesting going on in our community, or want to give a shout out to someone at the school, I'd love to add it to the Buzz. I especially love pictures. Please contact Mrs. Rowley to make sure that we have permission to publish pictures of every student in the picture. Pictures need to be less than 5 MB. Thanks so much!
