From Mrs. Rowley
Thank you to all who made our Oktoberfest such a wonderful success. Food, fun, and friendship were abound! We are grateful to our PTO and especially to Mrs. Kati Krueger for organizing this.
Our annual coat drive is drawing to a close! We are collecting gently used or new winter outer-wear for the needy in our community. Collection boxes are in the school lobby. Thank you for your support.
Reminder: Thursday is an early release day for the end of the quarter and Friday there is no school so that our teachers can attend a professional development workshop at Bishop O'Connell High School. These opportunities are wonderful as they enable us to share ideas, learn new educational techniques and collaborate with same-grade teachers.
Join us on Friday evening for fun at our third annual "Trunk or Treat" in the school parking. You might get a glimpse of the Queen Bee! See
below for more information.
On Sunday our 8th graders will join with parish students for a Confirmation Retreat in preparation for that Sacrament in late November. Please pray for them.
Our November book fair will be held from 2nd-7th, with a family event on Sunday, November 5 from 9:00 am-1:30 pm in the school library. Please join us!
Have a blessed week.

Three Kings Gift Shop Donations
Please consider helping us continue a great St. Ambrose School tradition -The Three Kings Gift Shop! The Three Kings Shop tradition is a Christmas shopping opportunity for our students. We stock the store with re-gifted items donated by our community that we sell for $1 or $2. All proceeds go directly to the school. The kids love it because they get to do their own shopping for their families with the help of our volunteer elves.
We are gladly accepting donations to stock our store!
Please take a look through your closets, drawers, attics, and garages and see if you have items in VERY GOOD condition to donate to our shop. We could use gifts for moms, dads, children, teenagers, and grandparents. Things like jewelry, toys, games, stuffed animals, ties, gadgets, mugs, books, religious items, knick-knacks, and any item you might want to receive or give as a gift. No large gifts as the children must be able to carry the items home. We also need gift wrapping supplies, gift boxes, jewelry boxes, tape, and sturdy shopping bags.
All donated items can be dropped off at the school office before December 8th. We appreciate your support! For questions please contact Maryellen DeWolfe at
[email protected]

Mime Assembly
On Wednesday, October 18, the PTO treated K-8 Students to a Mime Assembly! Students were delighted with this Mime Time assembly where they learned a brief history of mime, as well as several mime techniques including boxes, walls, ropes, ladders and walking against the wind. Students from K up through 8 were all equally excited to activate their imaginations in this unique and active assembly.

Fourth Annual Coat Drive
COAT DRIVE IN FULL SWING! Many, many thanks to those who have already donated winter wear items to our warm clothes collection for those who can use our help this season. Some of you have so generously donated new coats and scarves which are so appreciated. The
COAT DRIVE ends October 31st for our collection to take to the Divine Mercy Program in Ashburn, but if we receive donations a week past that date, we will find a good home for them. Keep those cleaned and slightly used items, or new items, coming! You are doing so much to help our less fortunate neighbors and providing great examples of Christian charity to your children.
