"
'Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.'
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
'Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.'"

From Mrs. Rowley
Thank you to all for your generosity in sending in toys for our annual Santa's Ride. The toys were picked up on Monday by Fairfax County Police Officers - and today we had a very special visit from Santa himself to thank our students! What a treat! The diocesan School Superintendent also paid a visit!
Our annual Three Kings Shop takes place this week. Thanks to the ongoing generosity of our school families and parishioners we have had wonderful items donated. If you can volunteer any time to help we would appreciate it.
Our Christmas concert will be held on Thursday, December 14 in the afternoon. The strings program directed by Mr. David Cho, and our band program, directed by Mr. Mark Sawasky will be followed by our drama/choral performance, featuring the entire school. Under the musical direction of Ms. Kayleen Nagurny, and the dramatic direction of Mrs. Lexx Greshock (in a Christmas play that she wrote!), we are excited to show off the incredible talent in our school.
We will end for Christmas break on Tuesday, December 19 with a half day! A reminder that there will be no Extended Day that day.
There will be no Buzz next week, so let me take this time to wish you all a very Happy and Blessed Christmas, full of everything you wish for. And a very Peaceful New Year to you all.
O God, Whose mighty Son was born in Bethlehem those days long ago, lead us to that same poor place, where Mary laid her tiny Child. And as we look on in wonder and praise, make us welcome him in all new life, see him in the poor, and care for his handiwork the earth, the sky and the sea. O God, bless us again in your great love. We pray for this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Making the Holidays Safe
Family gatherings, special traditions, delicious treats - the holiday season may be the most wonderful time of the year, especially for children. Unfortunately, for emergency room doctors it is also one of the busiest.
Learn how to protect your little ones from some common holiday dangers, so you and your family can enjoy a season that is happy and healthy.
Poisoning
-
Mistletoe, holly, poinsettias, Jerusalem cherry plants, and other plants are commonly used as decorations during the holidays. Like many plants, these are considered potentially poisonous and should be kept out of the reach of children. Symptoms of plant poisoning can include rashes, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. If you suspect that your child has eaten any part of a plant, immediately call your doctor or the National Poison Center:
(800) 222-1222.
-
"Bubble lights" containing methylene chloride can be poisonous if a child drinks the fluid from more than one light (even if labeled nontoxic). Snow sprays may be harmful if the aerosol propellants are used improperly.

A big shot out to Maryellen DeWolfe for organizing the Three Kings Gift Shop! A huge thank you to all the parents and parishioners who have donated items and to all the volunteers helping out. Words cannot express how much I love the Three Kings Gift Shop!

From the Editor
This will be the last edition of the Buzz before Winter Break. I hope you have a very peaceful and blessed Christmas. When we return, I hope you will continue to send in your submissions! I accept submissions from teachers, staff, and parents. If you know of something interesting going on in our community, or want to give a shout out to someone at the school, I'd love to add it to the Buzz. I especially enjoy pictures. Please contact Mrs. Rowley to make sure that we have permission to publish pictures of every student in the picture. Pictures need to be less than 5MB. Submissions are due by Mondays at 5pm.
