From Mrs. Rowley
Last Saturday saw the first of what we hope is an annual Father/Daughter dance. We had a wonderful turn-out and enjoyed dancing, great music and refreshments. A big "thank you" to Mrs. Lorraine Sloma-Williams for organizing the event and ensuring its smooth running. Also to Mr. An Cao for providing a wonderful selection of dance music. To all who volunteered, our deepest gratitude.
Today we observe Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten season. The school attended Mass and received ashes, therefore we will not attend Mass tomorrow. Saint Valentine's Day was either celebrated yesterday, or will be celebrated tomorrow.
Open registration for the 2018-2019 school year has begun. Please turn your re-registration forms in as soon as possible.
St. Ambrose School is now on Twitter! Please follow us at @StAmbrose22003.
Have a blessed week.
A Prayer for Lent
God of all mercy, you love all that you have made. You forgive the sins of all who are truly sorry. Create and make in us clean hearts, that we, humbly confessing our sins and knowing our brokenness, may receive your forgiveness and blessing; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

From the Editor
Due to an upcoming shoulder surgery, submissions are now due by FRIDAYS at 5pm. It's very important that you get your submissions in on time, or I won't be able to get them in until the following week. Please keep sending in your submissions, though! I accept submissions from teachers, staff, and parents. If you know of something interesting going on in our community, or want to give a shout out to someone at the school, I'd love to add it to the Buzz. I especially enjoy pictures. Please contact Mrs. Rowley to make sure that we have permission to publish pictures of every student in the picture. Pictures need to be less than 5MB. Thanks so much!

Father-Daughter Dance
On Saturday, February 10 the PTO hosted a hugely successful Inaugural Father/Daughter Dance. Nearly 100 Fathers and Daughters danced the night away while capturing this memorable evening at a PhotoBooth with photographer Laura Rowley. All were gifted with photos of the night to bring home as well as red, pink, and white carnations. Sore toes and bellies full of cupcakes, cookies, and punch made for a successful event. Thank you to all who volunteered to make this event such a success!!!

Thank you to Lorraine Sloma-Williams for not only initiating the idea of our wonderfully successful inaugural Father-Daughter Dance, but also planning it from rose petals to brownies! A truly fun time was had by all and that is in great part to the hard work and enthusiasm of Lorraine and her band of merry volunteers. We greatly appreciate all you do for our school community.
