One Couple's Pathway to Forever and Home
Ashley and Mario found St. Ambrose back in March, right before the pandemic began. They were searching for their very first home with the help of Nnameka “Chima”, from Homeset Realty and Larry McMillan, from M&T Bank, who participated in a St. Ambrose Counseling workshop back in February.
The couple was eager to find their new home because interest rates were at the lowest they have been in history. They had a decent amount of savings but the search for housing was incredibly difficult because of the limited availability of in-person showings due to Covid-19. This setback did not stop Ashley and Mario.

How Civil Legal Services Can Help Change Lives
St. Ambrose attorneys represented an elderly Baltimore City woman whose house was ticketed for violation of community property maintenance standards. She had been in the hospital and unable to manage her home- or respond to the notices.
Read here to learn how staff attorneys assisted in reducing the fine and provided her family the time necessary to improve the property.
If you are concerned about foreclosure or eviction during Covid-19, please contact an attorney by emailing us here or by calling 410-366-8550 ext. 209.

Adopt-A-Family
As Covid-19 unleashed a host of uncertainties in nearly every aspect of personal and public life, St. Ambrose focused on helping families protect and safeguard their homes.
Throughout the pandemic and its ensuing fallout, we are keeping individuals and families across the region safe and stably housed. We've provided residents with disinfecting supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE) in order to minimize the possibility of spreading the virus.
The Adopt-A-Family Emergency Fund helps families obtain essential items- from bedding, to pots and pans, to money for transportation to work- when they unexpectedly find themselves in need. This enables us to respond quickly to those who come to us for assistance.
You can make sure families have what they need to survive and thrive by mailing a check or donating to St. Ambrose online. Your generosity provides hope for a brighter, better future for all of our families.

2020 Community Investment Tax Credits Are Available!
Community Investment Tax Credits help St. Ambrose raise critical funds that support families with programs that are both innovative and reliable. As Covid-19 has shown us all, the work to ensure that individuals and families have a pathway to secure, stable housing, is critical today and every day.
Tax credits can help support the vital work of providing affordable housing, protecting families, and pursuing justice while significantly reducing the out-of-pocket cost of your donation. When you make a donation of $500 or more to St. Ambrose, you may be eligible to receive a Maryland Community Investment Tax Credit equal to 50% of the value of your donation.
