We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing Christmas break. We are very excited to have you back as we begin the 3rd quarter of our school year. We wish you blessings for a great 2013!

Lucky 2013 Casino Night
Casino Night

The St. Anastasia Catholic School Endowment Board of Trustees presents Lucky 2013 Casino Night on Saturday, January 19 from 7-10 p.m. in the St. Anastasia Auditorium. Enjoy a Las Vegas-type casino atmosphere and games all while supporting the Technology Program for the school. Play your lucky cards and games of chance as you enjoy an open bar and bountiful buffet. Tickets are $75 per person and dress is casual. Babysitting is available for $10 per family; reservations are required. Invitations were sent home in the Thursday folder on Dec. 20.

Open House 
Open House

St. Anastasia cordially invites prospective parents, grandparents and students to come experience what makes our school exceptional! Join us on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. until noon for an Open House. St. Anastasia Catholic School serves students in Pre-K 3 through eighth grade. Come learn about our Voluntary Pre-K program as well as the Step Up for Students Scholarship program.

St. Anastasia Catholic School provides a challenging, faith-based curriculum, small classroom sizes and highly-qualified teachers and
assistants. We boast a championship athletic program, as well as an award-winning fine arts program that includes band, choir, drama and more! St. Anastasia also provides an extensive aftercare program, hot lunch service and bus service is available.

There's a Box Tops contest we'd like you to hear

The New Year is close so lend us your ear.

 silly string

We are sure this is the contest you'll want to partake,

 

You won't be let down, there's a lot at stake.

 

Gather all of your Box Tops - help your classroom be king,

 

And the winning classroom sprays the principal with silly string.

 

Be the classroom with the most Box Tops collected from January 8th to May 8th and the whole classroom gets to douse Dr. Hoeffner with silly string. The first turn in will be January 8th. Put your Box Tops in a Ziploc bag or envelope with your teacher's name on it so it can be credited to your class. Our goal is 1,000 Box Tops per classroom so let's GET THOSE TOPS!!

Administration News 

Parents: Thursday folders will go out "FRIDAY" (Jan. 11) this week in order to include the 2nd quarter report cards. Please make sure you are up to date on any payments owed to the school in order to receive your student's report card. 

Middle School News 

The Principal's Free Dress Day for those who qualify is Tuesday, Jan. 15. Students should refer to the Handbook (Page 24) on our website (www.stanna.org) for Free Dress Day attire.

The Middle School Spelling Bee was held today and our champion is eighth-grader Kaitlyn Richmond! She will go on to compete in the County Spelling Bee in February in Tradition. Way to go Kaitlyn and Congratulations to all the Class Winners!

Junior Athletic League News 
The Junior Athletic Sports League will continue the soccer program through Saturday, Jan. 26.

Exciting News!! i9

The Junior Athletic League is partnering with the local i9 Sports Program to provide a Basketball Season! i9 Sports is a youth sports league that offers youth sports leagues, camps, clinics, and after school programs for kids ages 3-14 in popular sports such as flag football, soccer, basketball, T-ball and cheerleading.

Basketball season will begin on Saturday, Feb. 9 and run through April 13 (no play on March 23 & 30). Ages 5-13 and the cost is $25. Click here for the registration form. Registration forms will go home in next week's Thursday folder.

In order to get to know the i9 Sports program, everyone is invited to the 2nd annual FREE Day of Play based on the Worldwide Day of Play hosted by i9 Sports and The PGA. The Worldwide Day of Play

is an annual event designed to encourage kids and parents to turn off the television and play, especially outdoors. The event is this Saturday 2-6 p.m. at The PGA in St. Lucie West. Click here for the flyer.

Please note the new times for the Middle School youth gatherings. The time for the Middle School Youth Gathering is from 3:30-4:45 p.m. on scheduled Sundays.

This event is sure to be a great evening of Music, Play, Pizza, and Prayz!  An awesome Event for both Middle School and High School Youth!

Power6rade 6th grade "Power Hour"

 

The next "Power Hour" for 6th Graders will be Wednesday, January 16, 2013!  The gathering is at the Parish Center from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. and is 60 minutes of fast-paced fun with a focus on Faith!
