Last Call: Volunteers Needed for VBS to Continue this Year
Deadline to Volunteer is Friday, February 15
Vacation Bible School (VBS), which is usually held in the summer hosted by area churches is in danger of not happening this year because of a great need for volunteers. Please consider volunteering to help provide a great experience of faith and fun for the children of our community. To volunteer please email the Rev. Lorna Williams.

Our annual vestry retreat will take place this coming Friday and Saturday (February 15-16). Our Diocesan Canon for Christian Formation, Lynn Farlin, will be the facilitator. The retreat will include our annual Mutual Ministry Review, a tool that helps us assess our work over the past year and set goals for the future.

Please hold our hardworking vestry members in your prayers, and don’t forget to thank them for their ministry of leadership.
Next Discernment Meeting: Thursday, February 21 at 7 PM
Thus far in our discernment process, we have spent time reflecting on who we are as a parish, including our financial situation and current outreach ministries; we have heard from local experts about needs facing our community; and we have looked closely at the space we have to offer. Armed with that information, we are now ready to consider ideas for the use of our building. At our February meeting, we will distribute and begin to discuss the list of suggestions we have received for the use of building.

One meaning of the Latin stem of the word discernment is “sift.” As our process continues, with God’s help we will work together to sift through all of the information we have received and find within it what God is calling us to do with our space.

And It's Not too Late to Submit Your Building Use Suggestions: Deadline is February 15
Since June, many people have made suggestions about how we might use our space. We have kept a written list of those suggestions and will continue to add to it through February 15. If you have an idea for how we should use our space, please email your suggestion(s) to  Rachel Roby by Friday, February 15. Parishioners as well as neighbors are welcome to submit ideas.

Nominating/Search Committee Update: Diocesan Profile Is Now Live
The Diocesan Profile is now live as of Friday February 1, 2019. You can access it from the link on the Diocesan website, here. We encourage you all to do two things:
  1. Look over the profile and see how much of what we learned from the questionnaire responses and the listening sessions is reflected in it;
  2. Please send emails out to people you know who you feel can help to spread the word. Include the diocesan website address in the email so that they have access to the profile. The Nominating/Search committee sending notices out to as wide a range of places as possible but we hope that you will assist us in "spreading the word".

Thank you for your prayers and support for this process.
Pam Pringle, Chair, Nominating/Search Committee
Food Items for St. Paul’s
St. Paul’s appreciates all of the food items that are brought to church each week; however, many of the recent items in our baskets are not what they can use. Please don’t bring cake mixes, icings, cookies, and other such items.

The pantry needs:
  • canned vegetables (except black beans), meats, ready-to-eat soup, chili, pastas (especially those with pop-top lids)
  • peanut butter
  • tuna in envelopes

St. Paul’s can also use boxes of laundry detergent.

Happy are they who have not walked in the counsel of the wicked,
nor lingered in the way of sinners,
nor sat in the seat of the scornful!
Their delight is in the law of the Lord,
and they meditate on his law day and night.
Psalm 1:1-2
