Why I Love St. Andrew's

Bill Howard

As we approach this year’s stewardship campaign, we’re highlighting the many reasons people love this place with our video series “Why I Love St. Andrew’s.” This week in "Why I Love St. Andrew's," we hear how the Cathedral, for Bill Howard, is a spiritual home—a place to be lifted up and a place to lift up others. To see his video, or to revisit any from previous weeks, visit standrews.ms/stewardship.

Join us for a weekend full of events...

On Capitol Street.

Volunteers are needed to work 2-hour shifts at our tent! Sign up at standrews.ms/pride.

Jackson Pride will host a festival with entertainment, panels, and food. The Cathedral will be present to support the event—we hope you’ll come join us to have a good time and support the community!

Bring your furry, feathered, or scaly friends to receive a blessing at the service! Photos of pets who cannot attend or whom we've lost are also welcome, as are beloved stuffed animals. The service will be held on the Capitol Street side of the Cathedral and the Street Dough food truck will be serving complimentary treats after the service. It's recommended you bring a chair.

NOTE: On Pet Blessing Sunday, the 8:30 service will be held in the Cathedral nave. The 10:30 service, with the Blessing of the Animals, will be outdoors.

At the home of Rev. Hailey and Jack Allin.

Parishioners and friends of the Cathedral are all invited to the home of the Allins (125 Woodland Circle, Jackson) for our annual Parish Party. Snacks and beverages will be available. This event is geared toward adults, so it’s recommended families with children make arrangements for childcare.

Cathedral newcomers are also invited to join us for a social hour at 5:00 with other newcomers and Cathedral leaders prior to the party open to all parishioners at 6:00.

All are welcome Sundays at 9:30 for an exciting conversation about Bible Love, a conversation about scripture between Mary Balfour Dunlap (priest at Church of the Resurrection in Greenwood, S.C.) and Alan Bentrup (priest at St. Martin-in-the-Fields in Keller, Texas).
