COLLAB: Art Reception
Thursday, July 30 at 6pm
COLLAB is a new series at the Cathedral created in partnership with the artists of our parish. We believe creativity is a gift meant to be shared, and our community is rich with individuals whose God-given talents we wish to celebrate.
Each season, we will feature a new artist, with works displayed in the Parish Hall and around our building. Every installation will begin with an Opening Reception in collaboration with the artist. Artwork will be available for purchase with a portion of proceeds donated to the Cathedral.
Our first installation will feature Susannah Morse Mylroie, beginning July 30.

Howlelujah Tour
At Lemuria Books

The Howlelujah Tour is a joyful, inspiring, connecting and unifying event of moving songs and heart-warming animal stories presented by musician Joey McGee and author and Episcopal priest “Padre” Bill Miller. The dynamic duo is traveling around the country with a shelter dog, Sister Mary Rosetta Tharp, raising awareness and funds for animal shelters, and bringing people together in local communities to celebrate kindness and to do good. Because GOD is LOVE. And so is DOG!
The Jackson, MS leg of the tour at Lemuria will support CARA Animal Rescue and Adoption, hosted by St. Andrew's Cathedral, Lemuria Books, and Broad Street Bakery. Howlelujah.org

Cursillo

Cursillo is a worldwide movement of the Christian Church. It provides a method of living through which one's spirituality may be developed, lived and shared in any area of human life where there are Christians willing to dedicate their lives to God in an ongoing manner. The Three-Day Weekend is an experience of a joyous introduction into a growing and supporting community of friends in Christ - men and women who are working to Christianize their environments. Dear Congregation,
I am Jennifer Goodwin, Executive Director at McClean Fletcher Grief Center for Children. We will begin our grief support groups for kids, ages 4-18, the week of August 17th. We do not know the exact days of the week yet, but they will be on Mondays, Tuesdays and/or Thursday nights from 5:30-8pm. We are 100% a volunteer-driven organization and we are asking for anyone (at least 17 yrs old) who is interested in volunteering to attend our mandatory training on August 8th and 9th (all day Saturday, then Sunday afternoon). Once you are assigned to a night, you will volunteer twice a month and we ask that you commit to the school months, August-May. Please call our office for all the details and we hope you will consider spending time with our kids and caregivers to assist in their grief journey.

Drawdown to Build Up
Annually we partner with other Central Convocation parishes to host a drawdown supporting Habitat for Humanity. As we prepare for the August 14th event, we are looking for volunteers to help with food, decor, and the silent auction.

Uncork Some Hope for Habitat
at the Drawdown to Build Up
As part of the Habitat for Humanity Drawdown to Build Up, there will also be a Wine Wall Raffle. The Wine Wall is a new part of the Drawdown on August 14th: an auxiliary raffle of bottles of wine, with the proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity.
Tickets for the Wine Wall will be $20 and are separate from the Drawdown tickets. Tickets will be available at the door of the Drawdown.
How can you help?
DONATIONS of either:
- Bottles of wine greater than or equal to $25 in value
- Money or gift cards to buy wine for the raffle
