Dear Parish Family,

As Fr. Andy sat down to write this greeting to you, he received an email telling him that Dane County is planning to move to phase 2 of the Forward Dane plan for reopening. Here is a link to ORDER OF PUBLIC HEALTH MADISON &DANE COUNTY, EMERGENCY ORDER #5.

We want to remind you that Bishop Miller has prohibited parishes in the Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee from gathering for public worhip until at least July 5. He has also asked that every parish submit a plan for reopening that needs to be approved prior to the Diocese granting permission for that parish to regather. And he has said that permission to regather does not constitute encouragement to regather.

In this edition of the eNews you will find a link to the St Andrew's Reopening for Public Worship Survey. Please take a few minutes to review the information provided and send us your thoughts. We announced the survey at 9:00pm on Wednesday and have already heard from 87 members of our community. We want to hear from you too!

We have also updated the Responding to Racism page on our website. Inscribed on the statue of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King in Washington, DC are the words, "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice." It is certainly possible to argue the evidence that might disprove those prophetic words, but to do so would be to turn our back on Christian hope, and our belief that God is faithful even when we are not.

That Christian hope, our belief in God's faithfulness, does not absolve us of the call to participate in the bending of that arc. On The Day of Pentecost, when Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit on the Disciples he said to them, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”

Please don;t let this moment slip away. Look at the resources on our web site and ask the Holy Spirit just where it is that Jesus is sending you at the critical moment in our history as a poeple and as a nation.
