Women's Book Study Group
The St. Anne's Women's Book Discussion Group  will meet on Sunday, February 3  , from 4-6 pm, at Debra Mattingly's house. Bring a snack to share if you wish and we will eat and socialize from 4 - 4:30. We will begin the book discussion promptly at 4:30 and end promptly at 6.

For our next meeting , we will read aloud together from a play by Edmond Rostand about “the woman at the well,” known to Orthodox Christians as St. Photini. It is  not necessary  to have read the play ahead of time. Those who wish to will read parts aloud as we discuss the play together.

This is a new English prose version of Edmond Rostand's poetic and lyrical verse drama about the Samaritan woman who was converted by Jesus at Jacob's Well. This play is closely based on the story recounted in St John's Gospel and stresses the spiritual aspects of Christianity. It was written for Sarah Bernhardt, the great star of the French theatre of the day, who first performed it at Easter 1897, the same year of Rostand's great success in December with his play, 'Cyrano de Bergerac'.”

The Woman of Samaria , by Edmond Rostand [transl. from the French by Philippa Gerry and Sue Lloyd], available on Kindle for $4.00.
Date for Annual Parish Meeting Set

Fr. Stephen has set Sunday, February 17, as the date for our Annual Parish Meeting. We will hear reports from the parish and approve a budget for 2019. We will also elect members to the Parish Council.

The Annual Meeting is a requirement in the OCA Statutes and provides for the healthy governance of the parish. Everyone's participation is important.

Four members of our Council will be ending their terms:

Adam Davis; Adrienne Pyle; Niko Pantanizopoulos; Craig Morfas

Those who will be continuing are:

Alex Dnestrean; Jenny Pittman; David Heise

We will need nominees for the four open positions. Council members serve for two years and can be elected for a second term. Nominations must be submitted to Fr. Stephen for approval. Please submit the nomination instead of asking the person directly. If approved, Fr. Stephen will ascertain their interest and willingness to serve.
