Starting this past Monday, October 1st, students are required to wear the winter uniform (unless it is a gym uniform day). How awesome do these new ties and blue* dress shirts look? Adonis from 7th grade is rocking it!
*There is also a yellow version of the new shirt.

"I want to play violin," says Sa'liah of 4A. "I also like to perform in front of people and I am excited to perform at the Spring Concert."
And we are excited to see you and your bandmates perform in the spring, Sa'liah!

MOOD METER
In our school, we are using the MOOD METER; the mood meter is a social and emotional tool
- designed by the YALE
Center for Emotional Intelligence
-
to assist our students and teachers on how to manage and strategize their emotional reactions.
The Mood Meter below has students and teachers identify their emotions by this color chart.
You can hear our students and faculty daily - monitoring their emotions and saying,
"I feel like I am in the
red/blue/yellow/green
today."
This helps both the person who is monitoring their emotion as well as the people around them to be better equipped to handle the emotion at the moment.
|
|
And we have all felt these emotions above
and we have all felt them at many different times.
|
|
But sometimes we allow these emotions to take over.
They affect our work, our relationships, and our selves.
Mood Meter strives to create strategies to not let your emotions - high or low -
overpower the situation you are in.
Below are ways to strategize each emotion.
Please use the strategies at home
because the more our students become use to these strategies
the more they become emotionally intelligent.
