Sunday August 4 - Introducing "SPIRIT SCHOOL" — Sunday School for adults! First Sunday of each month at 10:30 am during fellowship hour. At Spirit School, we'll hear a short talk about a spiritual topic (often related to that day's scripture readings), followed by questions, discussion, and talk-story.
This Sunday, join us in Walker Hall to learn about food security and what we can do as Christians to share the bounty we have. Last Sunday, we heard the story of the loaves and fishes. This Sunday's gospel continues that story, and the next several weeks' scripture readings focus on the metaphor of "the bread of heaven." For Spirit School, Vicar Jennifer will give a brief talk about St. Augustine's food security efforts, what scripture says about nourishment (both physical and spiritual), and the spiritual importance of a food sharing mission.
