If you or someone you know would like to be added to our prayer list, please email Patsy Ching or Vicar Jennifer. You can request prayers for yourself, your 'ohana, or anyone in our community or beyond. 


During our Sunday services, you can write prayer requests on a piece of paper. Prayers will be read aloud or silently (per your request) during the Prayers of the People.

ONGOING EVENTS

SUNDAY SCHOOL - For children ages 3-10, every Sunday morning at 9:00 am with Youth Director Kathy Matsuda.


FELLOWSHIP HOUR - Every Sunday after our 9:00 am service. We gather to enjoy conversation, coffee, and treats in Walker Hall. Please bring some savory or sweet treats to share if you like! Mahalo to all who have been providing delicious food and to Jeannette Hensel for bringing coffee.


TEEN GATHERINGS - No teen night during July and August!


CHOIR - Join us Wednesdays at 5:00 pm to sing through the hymns for the following Sunday. All are welcome!

Sunday June 23 - Bishop's Committee Meeting 11:00am - Monthly Bishop's Committtee meeting. All St. Augustine's members are welcome to attend.


Monday June 24 - Kohala Quilting Group 3:30-6:30 pm, Join Nicole Gomes and her quilting group to work on Kohala's Community Quilt. All are welcome and no experience required.


Saturday June 29 - Bag Sale 8:00am to 12:00 pm - Walker Hall. Join us for this Thrift Shop clearance event! Fill a paper bag to the brim for only $5! Buy 2 bags and get the third bag free!


Sunday June 30 - Tiny Church Concert Series 5:30 pm featuring Kirk Corey (piano), Wendy Hindley (flute & recorder), Philippe Levy (violin & viola), and Jennifer Masada (flute).

ROAD CLOSURE THIS SUNDAY

Akoni Pule Highway will be closed for Go Skate Day from Kapa'au Post office to Kamehameha Park from 10:00 - 10:30 am this Sunday, June 23. If you are attending the 9:00 am service, please join us for fellowship in Walker Hall following service. Enjoy some coffee, light pupus, and conversation for a few minutes until the road reopens!

CALL FOR BACKGROUND ACTORS FOR KOHALA SHORT FILM!

Lucas Manuel-Scheibe, grandson of Martina Manuel, is a young filmmaker whose family is from Kohala and who created a Kohala oral history film titled "This Is Kohala," which aired on PBS Hawai'i in March 2024.


This month, Lucas is shooting a new film about Kohala called "Kealoha Disappears" and he needs your help! Background actors are needed for:


  • June 27 (before sunset): Kuleana Rum's Sugarcane fields at the bottom of Upolu Point Rd by Upolu Airport.
  • June 28 (morning): St. Augustine's Church.
  • June 30 (evening): Hub Barn at the Kohala Resilience Hub in Hawi.


RSVP REQUIRED IN ORDER TO GET SPECIFIC TIMES. No acting experience is needed. One day or all days availability is OK! All ages are welcome—he hopes to have as many people from the Kohala Community there as possible!
