TINY CHURCH CONCERTS
Our mini concert series has been renamed Tiny Church Concerts (a riff on NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts, ya?). Our most recent Tiny Church Concert was Tuesday, May 28.
We enjoyed the musical stylings of Music with Friends - an eclectic group of musicians with Sharon Sauer (lead vocals/guitar), Anne Pontius (vocals/ukulele), Ricky Lee (bass), Gordon Duarte (vocals/ukulele), Nate Way (banjo/dobro), and Dave Link (saxophone/percussion). 35 people filled the church and sang, danced and toe-tapped along to country, gospel, and soft rock classics. A lovely gathering in Walker Hall followed with light pupus and an impromptu sing-along!
Our next Tiny Church Concert is Sunday June 30 at 5:30 pm and will feature Kirk Corey (piano), Wendy Hindley (flute), Philippe Levy (violin and viola) and Jennifer Masada (flute).
If you are a musician or know of musicians (near or far!) who would like to perform at an upcoming Tiny Church Concert, please contact Kathy Webb at admin@staugustineskohala.com or Vicar Jennifer at vicarjennifer@staugustineskohala.com. Concerts are 30-45 minutes and can be any genre. Concert admission is free to the public but donations are suggested and all proceeds go to the musicians.

FOOD PRESERVATION WORKSHOP AT ST. AUGUSTINE'S
brings more sustainability to Kohala
Last month, St. Augustine's partnered with the North Kohala Resilience Hub to offer the first in a series of workshops to teach local residents to preserve food. Our own Libby Leonard wrote an article in the Kohala Mountain News (see page 10).
Mahalo, Libby, for spreading the word about food preservation and our goal to share these important skills with our Kohala community! Read her article to learn how these workshops can increase food security, support local agriculture, and foster community connections.
