Special Services at St. Barnabas

A Healing Eucharist for Spiritual Trauma

We offer this service as a space to collectively grieve and process past traumas caused by experiences in other faith communities while we seek the fullness of life God offers us in Christ.

Journaling as a Spiritual Practice continues Tuesday, February 6th

Journaling provides a window that brings light to seeing our life, the sacredness of each day, and of every person.

Moving from Epiphany toward Lent, we may come to see that journaling is time we spend with God, which sometimes feels like dialogue and often, like praying.

Childcare is available for each session.

Prayer as a Way of Life begins Tuesday, February 20th

Join us for a Lenten journey into what Jesus calls “your secret room,” building individual prayer practices. The 6-week series will be a blend of lectures, small group discussion, and workshopping.

If you’re interested in a practical approach to mindfulness and deepening your conversation with God, we think you’ll enjoy this experience.

Childcare is available for each session.

Honoring Black History Month

We Conspire is a series from the Center for Action and Contemplation featuring wisdom and stories from the growing Christian contemplative movement.

February's We Conspire articles honor Black History Month with wisdom from those on the front lines, serving others for a more hopeful and equitable world.

The Becoming Beloved Community ministry encourages you to read and reflect upon articles honoring Black History Month with wisdom from Rep. John Lewis, Rev. John Dear, Sister Mary Angela Parkins, Ruby Sales, and Rev. Jacqui Lewis.

How do you confront oppression with love for others?

Fellowship at St. Barnabas

Join us for our Secret Prayer Partners program during Lent! Secret Prayer Partners pairs up parishioners anonymously and invites participants to pray for their partner daily and write a letter or prayer to them weekly during the Lenten season.

If you would like to participate, please fill out the attached Google form or call the church office (337-984-3848) by February 14th.

Ladies, mark your calendars! ECW will not meet on the 2nd Tuesday in February due to Mardi Gras.

ECW will meet on Tuesday, February 20th, at 6 p.m. at La Pagua Mexican Restaurant (5425 Johnston Street).

We’ll be discussing the possibility of a fun project for March: making Easter cards for the residents of Lady of the Oaks Nursing Home!
