In Need of Our Prayers:

For all who have commended themselves to our prayers; for our families, friends, and neighbors; that being freed from anxiety, they may live in joy, peace, and health, we pray to you O Lord. (BCP, Prayers of the People, Form V, 391)

We pray for:

Sasha, Paige, Nathaniel, Haskell, Gregory, Andy, Molly, Nova, Matt and Shannon, Lem, Hana, Melanie, Susan, Sue, Brooke, Elizabeth, Danny, Lin, Caroline, Ed, Greg, Tom, Diane, Laura, Judy, Celeste, Lisa, Jackie, Dan'l, Mike, Sarah and Stefan, Margot, Hannah, Richard, Peggy, Bruce, Branden, and the family of Ellie Pascarella.

For those who have died, especially Ellie Pascarella, cousin of Celeste and Mike Pascarella, receive them into the arms of your mercy.

AT ST. BART'S

Calling All St. Bart's Creatives

Friday, October 9, 10–11:30 a.m.

As we prepare for the Christmas Fair, the St. Bart’s craft group is meeting bi-weekly.

Please join us in the chapel tomorrow for "crafty" creativity, conversation, and camaraderie. Coffee, tea, and a sweet treat will be available.

You are invited to bring your knitting, embroidery, crocheting, quilting, other crafts, or just yourselves to join in the fun. There is a basket of yarn and needles available in the chapel for you to peruse and draw upon.

StoryTellers returns!

Sunday, October 11, after service

Please come to hear or tell stories about a time when you shared with someone or someone shared with you. Take the word share as broadly or narrowly as you wish.

We meet after the Sunday service in the chapel for about 45 minutes starting after folks have had time to get a snack and say hello.

We can't have storytellers without story listeners. We look forward to seeing you there!

Calling all Gardeners, Diggers, Planters, People Who Like to Play in the Dirt!

Tuesday, October 13, 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

We have a special project happening and your help is needed! We’ll be creating a new bed around the generator area, and planting various native shrubs to help screen it, as well as provide habitat for our pollinators, insects, birds and wildlife.

Our work time will be from 8:30am - 2:00pm. All help is welcome! Come for an hour, come for five, as you are able. Bring tools (shovels, edgers, rakes, tarps, garden gloves, knee protection, water bottle) and a lunch if you are staying. Snacks will be provided.

Rain date will be THURSDAY the 15th. Please RSVP to Joyce Cassidy as soon as possible so work can be planned, and indicate your likely time to help as well as any preferred tasks. There will also be a sign-up sheet on the Church bulletin board.

New Member Sunday!

Sunday, October 18

On Sunday the 18th we will welcome new members to St. Bart's with a special welcome liturgy during the service and a celebratory coffee hour to follow.

Have you been attending St. Bart's for a little while and ready to officially become a member? We'd love to include you in this liturgy and celebration! Please email Rev. Amanda or see Anne Berg or Susie Soule for more information.

Art Show Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to serve as Chaperones during the Art Show (October 21-24). Can you help?

Chaperones welcome customers, answer questions, and process sales of art. Training will be provided on October 19 at 12 noon and 4 p.m. at church, and reference materials are provided at the welcome table. If you can't make the Oct. 19 training and are new to this, training will be provided at the start of your shift.

Please go to this link for more information and to sign up for a shift or two! If you have any questions please contact Anne Jacobs.

Online Directory Soft Launch

We are going to begin active testing of our new Realm online photo directory. Everyone who wants will have their own individual login and have the ability to update their own information and add a personal and a family photo. Paper copies will also be available.

The next step is recruiting volunteers to help with testing the system and also to provide a group that can help out with login issues, etc.

If you would be interested in being one of the testers, please let Dan Hudkins know.

Christmas Fair Preparations Begin: Jewelry

Kate Ciarimboli has once again assumed responsibility for the ever-successful jewelry table at the fair. Please gather up all the jewelry you, your friends, neighbors, and relatives no longer

wear. The jewelry can be left in the labeled basket in the office. Kate can do small repairs, so let that not be an obstacle, but re-stringing pearls is off the table!

Most of the jewelry that we offer is costume, though gold and silver pieces are welcome. If you have a piece that is not being worn, please consider donating it, flagging that it is not costume. We will sell it to a dealer and provide you with a donation letter! Each year we seem to receive something special that

enhances our bottom line significantly. Please give this a thought!

Kate will need some help on the day of the fair, and if you are skilled in jewelry repair, please let her know, as we’re sure that she could use a few more elves to help her with the pre-fair work.

Save the Date: Harvest Dinner at St. Bart's

Winter coat and boot drive kick-off for St Elizabeth’s Essentials Pantry

October is winter coat drive month for St Elizabeth’s Essentials Pantry

Time to clean out your winter clothing closet for donations to our Outreach partner St Elizabeth’s Essentials Pantry. Goodwill is also a terrific place to get winter coats and boots, with special sales every week.

Please bring in winter coats for the month of October (We’ll be asking for winter boots for the month of November.) Large sizes for both men and women are especially needed. There are two bins for St Elizabeth’s in the porch area. You can also give them to Harriet Davis. If you would rather write a check to support this effort, make it out to St Elizabeth’s Essentials Pantry and leave it in the plate, the office or give it to Harriet.

Reach out to our St E’s representative Harriet Davis if you have questions.
