Rejoice, Rejoice: Dent Davidson on the Great O Antiphons.  
Join Interim
Director of Emerging Liturgy and Music Dent Davidson for a reflective session  in which we will hear the ancient chants of each antiphon in Latin, interspersed  with 20th century English choral settings, poetry and symbol, to explore ways
in which we can enrich our observance of Advent, the season of expectation.

Festival of Advent Lessons and Carols: Sunday, December 8 at 5 pm. The prophecies of the coming of Christ, splendid Advent carols and anthems, festive reception following.  Eucharist in the chapel follows the service for those who wish.


All Children and Youth are invited to participate in our annual Christmas Pageant, which will take place on December 24 at the 4 pm service. An organizational meeting for children in grades 6 through 12 will take place this Sunday, December 8. Learn more.


The Forum: This Sunday, December 8 at 10 am, Interim Organist and Choirmaster Paolo Bordignon shares a preview of upcoming Advent and Christmas music at St. Bart's.  



Midtown Carol Sing-Along: Tuesday, December 10 at 5:45 pm. Join us for midtown's largest carol sing-along on St. Bart's front steps; warm up with hot chocolate, cider and cookies inside the church afterwards.


A Joyous Christmas Concert: Saturday, December 14 at 7:30 pm. Hear St. Bartholomew's Choir and Choristers celebrate the sounds of Christmas, singing beloved traditional settings, as well as new arrangements of holiday favorites. Purchase tickets  here.


Crossroads Clothing Drive: As temperatures drop, the need for warm clothing rises for Crossroads community members. You can help by donating new or clean, gently used clothing items requested by January 13.


Advent Calendars, Books, Gifts and more at the Store @ St. Bart's: We are stocked for the season with wonderful inspirational gifts. This  Sunday, December 8. The store is open extended hours for our  Festival of Advent Lessons and Carols and is offering 10 percent off all purchases made after 4 pm. 


Centering Prayer for Advent: Advent is a time of preparation for the birth of Christ and a time of reflection. Explore the ancient contemplative practice of centering prayer in our Monday evening series.

Honor a loved one  with  Christmas Flowers  or  Music.  Christmas provides a unique opportunity to memorialize a loved one or offer thanksgiving for a special blessing. All memorial and thanksgiving dedications made by  Sunday, December 16  will appear in the Christmas service bulletins.

COMMUNITY GROUPS MEETINGS
 

The St. Bart's Peace Book Club will meet on Sunday, December 8 at 12:30 pm to discuss Enrique's Journey, by Sonia Nazario, copies of which are available for purchase at the Store @ St. Bart's.

 


LGBTQ+ Community Annual Holiday Party: All are invited to join the LGBTQ+ Community for some holiday cheer on Tuesday, December 10, 7-9 pm at Inside Park. $30 early registration, $35 at the door. Learn more.
 


St. Bart's Adult Professionals Group will be hosting dinner at Inside Park on Tuesday, December 10 from 7-8:30 pm following the annual "Midtown Carol Sing-Along" (5:45 pm) on the front steps of St Bart's.  Learn more.

Congratulations to St. Bartholomew's Conservancy President  Carole Bailey French  who as recently honored by The New York Landmarks Conservancy at their 2019 Living Landmarks Celebration.  

Liturgy Coordinator and Choir Member  David Bryan will appear in  "Songs To Fill The Sanctuary" - in the Synagogue Sanctuary at the Museum at Eldridge Street in New York City on Sunday evening, December 15 .
