A MESSAGE FROM OUR

PASTOR AND PRINCIPAL

I am so excited to be here at St. Bede to kickoff the 2022-2023 school year, as we celebrate the school's 70th Anniversary!

In the short time I have been here, I have already witnessed the dedication of our faculty to the growth of our students and families, as well as the warm sense of community across faculty, staff, parents, and kids.  


One of my favorite things about my ministry is the opportunity to really get to know each family, and I am looking forward to getting to know each of you and your children. Our school's mission reflects our Catholic identity, fostering both spiritual and academic growth. As such, I encourage you all to join me at Mass here at St. Bede each Sunday.

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at St. Bede. We are so excited to begin another new year of learning, leadership, and Faith development with our students as we “Act Justly, Love Tenderly & Walk Humbly With Our God”. We will continue to place faith formation at the center of learning and engage together in worship and service to others. You have entrusted us to share in this important responsibility in educating your child. With parents and the school working together through mutual respect, we can achieve what is best for each child at St. Bede. I am looking forward to fostering a loving, spiritual, and academically challenging environment for our students to flourish into strong leaders who embody our Catholic faith.

September 1:  BACK TO SCHOOL BBQ at 5:00 pm

September 2:   First Friday Mass at 11:00 am

September 5:  No School: Labor Day

September 7:  Back to School Night at 6:30 pm in the Church (Adults only)

September 13: 5th Grade Bible Blessing at 8:10 am Mass

September 14: Picture Day **All students must wear their uniform** and  

            Virtus Training for new adults at 5:00 pm in Parish Center

September 18: Catechetical Sunday Mass at 9:00 am

September 21: Virtus Recertification at 5:00 pm in Parish Center 

September 23: $1 Free Dress

September 28: Jog-A-Thon Rally #1

September 29: TK, K, and 1st Dinner in the Courtyard at 6:30 pm (Adults only)

September 30: Last day to bring dog and cat food donations to the foyer
 

PARENT ASSOCIATION NEWS 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! (AND APPRECIATED)

(FUN)DRAISING with the PARENT ASSOCIATION

Volunteers help keep costs in check, AND give families hands-on participation opportunities on campus and in our key fundraisers. 


  • Each family has a 30hr annual volunteer commitment – a min. of 5 must be for Parent Association Fundraisers 
  • If you DID complete the “Volunteer Interest checklist”, you will receive an email soon
  • If you did NOT complete the checklist, review SchoolSpeak for fundraising opportunities and reach out to the chair (To find chairs, visit: SchoolSpeak > Volunteer Info > Volunteer Opportunities + Chairs)

Reminder! Church volunteer hours, and hours from grandparents / family members count!

Fundraisers are a core part of the St. Bede experience. They fund the gap between tuition and operating expenses, AND give families the opportunity to build and maintain a close-knit community. 


The 2022-2023 School Year offers 3 St. Bede Parent Association Fundraisers: 


  • Jog-a-Thon (Student Fun Run + Dad’s Dogs). Friday, October 21, 2022
  • BedeFest (Parent Auction + Dinner). Saturday, February 4, 2023
  • Whiskey, Wine + Nine (Parent Golf Tourney). Monday, May 8, 2023

Reminder! Each family has a $1300 annual fundraising minimum for Parent Association Fundraisers.

  • Collecting dog and cat food for the Pasadena Humane Society!
  • Please bring any unopened dog or cat food to the foyer by Friday, September 30.

RCIA STARTS

SEPTEMBER 7

Are you or someone you know interested in joining our Catholic community?

A program for any adult inquiring about our Catholic faith.


RCIA sessions will begin with a brief intro meeting Wednesday, September 7 at 7:00 pm and then resume every other Wednesday beginning September 21 in the Mother Teresa room at St. Bede at 7:00 pm.
