The High Tea is a fun, social event for parishioners, friends and the surrounding community. The silent auction and raffle are not only popular, but an important part of a successful outcome. Donations of a gift basket or item/s to include in a basket are needed. Please label your donations "High Tea" and leave in the office.

An RSVP to Muriel for this in-person meeting is kindly requested.
A discussion group, grounded in prayer, for those who have questions, concerns, and emotions that feel too big, and need a safe place to process with others.
We will see what participants need from this group. Perhaps it will just be a place to express what you are feeling, or maybe some will want to know what action can be taken.
And we will pray together.
Some questions to consider:
How are you doing, and what are you feeling?
Where are you in terms of processing changing public policy?
How can we live the values of our faith
in the face of conflicting public policy?

Invitation to Prayer Shawl Ministry
Prayer shawls are used to provide comfort, acknowledge joy or appreciation, say goodbye, or any other reason to share God’s love. They may be used in prayer, and the act of making them is prayer. Making them with friends is church.
Currently, a prayer shawl group meets one morning and one evening a month. You are invited to attend one or both meetings.

Lunches for
Church of the Common Ground
Sunday, April 27
“Church of the Common Ground is a church community on the streets of Atlanta living the Good News that we are all God's beloved. We're like any other church—we just don't have a building.”
Each week volunteers are asked to provide sack lunches for the service participants. St. Bede’s is providing lunches on Sunday, April 27. We will meet that morning at 9:00 am in Parish Hall to assemble 80 lunches. And we will take the lunches to the COTCG staff at St. Luke’s at 12:15 pm and then go to the service at Woodruff Park, rain or shine.
We need volunteers to help make the lunches that morning and volunteers to attend the service and distribute the lunches afterwards. A sign up sheet is in the Commons on the round table.
Please join us as we worship with Church of the Common Ground and share a meal together!

GAS CARDS NEEDED!
A small group of St. Bede's parishioners will be heading to El Refugio, a hospitality house that provides free meals and lodging for families and friends of folks detained at Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia. Immigrants from all over the Southeast and as far away as Missouri have been detained at Stewart. It is a soulless place where the food is scant and the treatment received is poor. Some of these immigrants had legal status to be in this country, but they have been caught up in the new immigration raid reality.
St. Bede's collects and donates $25.00 gas cards so that families that visit El Refugio can have an extra bit of financial help for their trips to visit loved ones. In 2024 El Refugio gave out 286 gas gift cards, and St. Bede's contributed close to 100 of those cards. You can buy a gas gift card or give Karen or Paul Werner or Claudia Fedarko cash to buy the cards. Many thanks for all that you do to support families who are suffering.

Food donations from partner churches, community organizations, and individuals stock our pantry shelves. Now you can shop and ship directly to NETWorks on both Amazon.com and Walmart.com at your convenience. These lists are prioritized by our current needs in both the food and personal care pantries.
Our shopping lists are only a guide to the types of items we need--we are NOT brand specific at NETWorks, so please shop wherever you can find the best deals.
Ship items to NETWorks, 2380 4th St., Tucker, GA 30084 or bring your donations to NETWorks Wednesday, Friday or Saturday from 10am-1pm or contact our program director to make an appointment. Please do not leave items during non-business hours.
Receipts for tax purposes are available upon request. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

"Putting Out Hunger" Golf Tournament

Yes, our 3rd annual "Putting Out Hunger" golf tournament is coming right up—Monday, May 12 at Heritage Golf Course here in Tucker. The first two events have been a lot of fun as golfers and sponsors raise money to help our neighbors facing food and financial hardships.
St. Bede's golfers are cordially invited to participate! One church partner makes this a church outing, inviting members to form teams and play as a group. What a great fellowship opportunity!

New Welcome / Privacy Signs
When you arrive at St. Bede's, you will notice some new signs posted by entrance doors extending a "Welcome" but also designating our interior spaces as "private" for the purposes of unauthorized entry by law enforcement. These signs have been posted upon recommendation of the Bishop's office and other denominational authorities as a means of stating publicly the reality that we have embodied for years - that all are welcome to gather here to worship God without fear of any legal action being taken against them while in worship. These signs appear now as a result of churches and schools no longer being classified as "sensitive spaces" in regard to immigration enforcement. They do not affect access for members and those who regularly gather at St. Bede's, but they do seek to help protect those who are most vulnerable amongst us.

As violence escalates in Ukraine, over one million people have already fled the country — and the borders are flooded with many more people desperate to leave.
Almost all of them are women and children who have had to seek safety on their own, leaving their husbands, fathers, brothers and sons behind.
As this crisis continues to evolve, we are working with Anglican agencies and our other partners to provide humanitarian assistance, and urgently ask for your help.
Your emergency gift today will support our immediate response, providing cash, blankets, hygiene supplies and other needs as this crisis unfolds.
Our faith networks are currently on the ground in the border areas of Poland, Hungary and Romania, and we will continue to coordinate with them in order to help those who have been displaced. Specifically, our partner ACT Alliance is helping families on the Hungarian border, and our Anglican partners are mobilizing both an immediate and long-term response in Poland, Romania and Hungary.
