Feast of St. Francis of Assisi &  Blessing of the Animals

Join us for our service this Sunday, October 7 at 10 am to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis which will include a blessing of the animals.  The blessing portion will be inside the church due to construction. Bring your pets (real and stuffed) for a blessing before the service.  
All are welcome!

Stewardship Season

Stewardship season is here! Join us for services during October to hear about what St. Bernard's means to many of our parishioners. Pledge certificates can be found in the Narthex and placed in the offering plate or 
mailed to the parish office.

Winter Clothing Drive for
Grace's Kitchen

Once we are moved into the new Parish House we'll be able to start collecting warm winter clothes for our friends at Grace's Kitchen. If you would like to help get the word out speak to Pastor Beth.

God's Giving Garden 
Our harvest is now at about 1467lbs!  The last scheduled week for the garden starts on October 28th. We are still harvesting, and will do a lot of prep so that we can have a great start next spring! 

Work sessions are scheduled for the following times next week: 

Monday, Oct. 8th, 9:30 - 11:30 am
Wed, Oct. 10th, 4:00 - 5:30 pm
Fri, Oct. 12th, 9:30 - 11:00 am. 

Please come and help if you can. There is plenty to do!

There is still time to join us to read Lauren Winner's book, Wearing God: Clothing, Laughter, Fire, and Other Overlooked Ways of Meeting God. You can purchase the book online in paperback or electronic format. 

We'll meet in the church from 6-7 pm on Tuesdays in October. Please read the first chapter, note, and second chapter on Clothing before our next meeting on Oct. 9. All are welcome, invite a friend or neighbor!

In observance of Columbus Day the Parish Office will be closed on Monday, October 8.
JOY! Services

Families with young children (infants and up) are welcome to join us for our monthly JOY! service, on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 
9 am.   

The next service will be on October 21.  

This 25 minute service welcomes children into our liturgical tradition in informal, participatory, and fun ways. Please contact Pastor Beth with questions or to help.    And spread the word - all are welcome!
Guest Preacher, November 4
All Saints' Day

On Sunday, Nov. 4, we will welcome as our guest celebrant and preacher the Rev. Sara Lilja, Director of the Lutheran Episcopal Advocacy Ministry of NJ ( ). 

Pastor Sara Lilja inspires us to live lives of faith in action, as we embrace God's justice at the heart of our Gospel. All are welcome!

Parish Office Hours
Due to the construction work  our Parish Administrator occasionally works from home. Voicemail is checked daily. We are nearing completion and hope to be moving in to our new offices soon! Thank you.
Pastor Beth's Office Hours
Pastor's Beth is in the office each week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. 
Monday is her day off.  On Fridays she works from home.

 AA Update:

Alcoholics Anonymous meets  on Tuesday evenings at 8 pm and Saturday evenings at 6 pm in the church, while construction is going on.
