2015 Magis Award Recipient

Mr. Tom McGrath, President, St. Bonaventure's College is pleased to announce on behalf of the Selection Committee, that Ms. Charlotte-Anne Malischewski '08, is the 2015 recipient of the St. Bonaventure's College Magis Award For Young Alumni recipient.  

Charlotte-Anne Malischewski holds an honours bachelor in International Studies and Music from Earlham College, a master's with distinction in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies from Oxford, and a double civil and common law degree from McGill.  

She has worked with displaced populations in New Orleans, Jordan, and Palestine and conducted research on conflict resolution and migration in Northern Ireland and India.  She strives to use her education to contribute meaningfully to a more just and equitable world by advocating for migrant rights, gender equality, and accessible education.  

Most recently, she founded Contours, a magazine on the intersection of women and law, and worked on refugee cases with the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project.  Though her studies and travels have taken her far, Charlotte-Anne continues to feel connected to home whenever she picks up her fiddle. 

She is now working as a judicial clerk at the Federal Court of Appeal in Ottawa.

The award will be presented to Charlotte-Anne at the annual Alumni Dinner on  October 15, 2015 at St. Bonaventure's College. For information on tickets please contact:

Heather Carroll '10
We welcome a member of our alumni community to the staff effective  September 1.

Ms. Heather Carroll '10 is no stranger to the hall's of St. Bon's since graduating five years ago. 

Heather has been coaching the SBC girls basketball team for several years. 

But come September the Memorial University graduate will make the move from court to classroom as the newest teacher on staff.

Kat McLevy '14 Releases New Single, "Tell Me Once,"
Kat McLevy'14  has been called
"...a thoughtful young writer with poise and self-awareness beyond her years." by  Exclaim! Magazine.
St. Bon's alumni Kat McLevy has been called "one to watch," in the local music scene.  After playing on stage at concerts, festivals and shows across the province Kat is releasing her long-awaited full-length debut album Evergrown.

Kat McLevey's CD Release will take place at The LSPU Hall on Friday, August 28th. The show starts at 8 p.m.Tickets are $20, available at the LSPU Hall box office. She'll be joined by guests AE Bridger and Carole Bestvater & Friends.

We extend our congratulations to Kat on this amazing accomplishment and to the start of her Music studies at the Berklee School of Music in Boston. 
Kevin Lewis '60 Publishes Book "A Paperboy's Story"
Alumni Kevin Lewis '60 has released his first novel  A Paperboy's Story. 

A memoir filled with stories that are powerful and wonderful, irreverent and funny, and poignant and  heartbreaking . Kevin, Holyrood's first paperboy, is a retired teacher, an actor, and now an author. 

The book contains plenty of references to his time at St. Bon's.

"Fallen 51" Dinner Tickets On Sale Now

Lieutenant Colonel Padre Thomas Nangle C.F  
Join us on September 23rd at the Crow's Nest Officer Club for the 2nd Annual "Fallen 51" Dinner in honour of the 51 boys from St. Bonaventure's College who made the supreme sacrifice during the First World War. 

This year's dinner will feature Gary Browne '63 speaking on college alumnus Lieutenant Colonel Padre Thomas Nangle C.F '1909 and his extraordinary contribution during the First World War and his efforts in ensuring the fallen were not forgotten. 

Tickets are $200 with a receipt for the tax deductible portion.

Proceeds from this event will support St. Bonaventure's College Bursary Fund, t o ensure that no child is unable to attend St. Bonaventure's College because of inability to pay

Sponsorship packages for this event are also available.

For the first time this event includes an a special alumni Mass (optional) in St. Bon's Chapel at 6:30 pm.

This is followed by a cocktail reception in the Aula Maxima at 7:00 pm and dinner and awards in the gymnasium. 

Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at St. Bonaventure's College's President's office during business hours or online at
