8th Grade Powder Puff Game - Friday, Nov. 8th
Are you ready for some football? The 8th grade ladies are ready for their turn to gain some yards and score some points in this annual gridiron classic. You won't want to miss the 8th grade boys as the official cheering squads for each team. The game will be played on Friday, November 8th at 2:00pm on the St. Cecilia field. Not only is the game played for fun, but also to support a local charity. This year the 8th graders have selected "Books Between Kids". Admission to the game is either a book, or small monetary donation for the agency so they can purchase books for at-risk students in Houston (this is encouraged, but not required). We hope you can join us for this fun tradition and support the 8th grade class as they work to support improving literacy for students with less resources.

St. Cecilia Catholic School Redesigned School Website Launch
We are excited to announce that early next week, St. Cecilia Catholic School will be launching a redesigned school website. The website address will remain the same – https://saintceciliacatholicschool.org – but the website will have an updated design. The design process, updating of content, and review have been taking place over the last few months. The goal of this redesign is to continue to improve communications and resources available to current and prospective families by making the website more user friendly, highlighting school programs, and marketing the school with an updated design. As we launch this redesign, we are still in transition on a few items; some content pages that are still being updated, and other minor changes we will complete next week as the new design is launched. More detailed information about specific updates to the website will be communicated next week when the launch is in progress. Thank you in advance for your patience as we make this exciting transition.

We are excited to announce that our school has achieved the Common Sense School Recognition. Saint Cecilia Catholic School has demonstrated its commitment to taking a whole-community approach to preparing its students to think critically and use technology responsibly to learn, create, and engage in the online world.  With the right support, kids can take ownership of their digital lives, engage with real issues, and change their communities for the better. The recognition acknowledges our school's commitment to creating a culture of digital citizenship.

"We're honored to be recognized as a Common Sense School," said Principal Jeff Matthews. "By preparing our students to use technology safely and responsibly, we are providing them an opportunity to build lifelong habits to help them succeed in a tech-driven world."
