Greetings!
There are 3 important things I want to share with you: 1. St. Colman Day is Saturday, November 9 2. Please buy tickets for our $10,000 Raffle
3. November's Cleveland Magazine features St. Colman! First, we will be honoring our Church in the City Partner Parishes on St. Colman Day, Saturday, November 9. When Bishop Pilla wrote his Pastoral Letter in 1994 urging parishes outside of the city to focus on sharing their time and talent and treasure to serve the people and churches of the city, two parishes approached St. Colman's to form a partnership.
Since then, the people of Our Lady, Help of Christians in Wayne, Ashland and Medina Counties and the people St. Christopher Parish in Rocky River, have become an integral part of St. Colman's. In 2009, the people of St. Angela Merici joined in this unique partnership of rural, suburban and urban parishes.
Today, we are grateful that folks from our partner parishes take part in every event, celebration and ministry we have .. and their support was crucial when the existence of St. Colman was threatened. You can read more details about how they serve the parish and neighborhood by reading Cleveland Magazine's special insert about St. Colman's in their November issue (see info about Cleveland Magazine below). The insert will also be included in our St. Colman Day Program Book.
Second, we are holding our $10,000 Raffle on November 9, and we need you to buy and to sell tickets. This is our biggest fundraiser every year and proceeds go toward keeping everything going. Tickets are $20 and only 3500 will be sold. Call the Parish Office right away for your chance....and help St. Colman's by selling some to friends and family, please. We are also selling ads for the St. Colman Day Program Book. If you would like to congratulate any of the honorees (listed to the right on this page) or if you or your business would like to tell the world that you support us, please buy an ad! The form for ads can be found by clicking HERE.
Third, we are thrilled that the November issue of the Cleveland Magazine will feature a special insert about St. Colman's, our ministries that serve the people of our neighborhood and the people of our partner parishes who help us to make it all possible. Please pick up a copy of the Cleveland Magazine November issue and look inside for the beautiful 8 page insert. This insert was made possible because of Maroon Inc., whose CEO Mark Reichard and Shelly, his wife, are founders of the Neighborhood Meal and still organize and serve it.
Finally, the Diocese's "October Count" is this weekend and next weekend. We are asked to count everyone who comes to Church this weekend and report it to the Bishop. The numbers we report are used to determine the vitality of our Parish. Please invite those you know who support us to come to St. Colman's always, but especially the next two weekends, 10/5 & 10/6 and 10/12 and 10/13. This weekend there will even be a bake sale after every Mass as well as sloppy joes, hot dogs, soup and cabbage & noodles for sale in the Hall after Sunday Masses. Hope to see you at Church .. and on St. Colman Day! Thank you so much for your support,
Fr. Bob Begin Pastor |
