January 2020

Happy New Year and Welcome Back! 2020 is sure to be  a fun filled year at St. Cyril. We are looking forward to  the class skates.

Kids School Lunch - Important Update

Just a reminder that Rose Reisman catered lunches for  the St. Cyril community will be on Wednesdays going  forward. Please order by midnight on Mondays to  ensure a Wednesday delivery.

Spirit Wear - Order Update

The Spirit Wear Campaign has been a big success! The order has been placed and the items are anticipated to be available later this month or early February. If you placed an order, we look forward to seeing you in your Spirit Wear very soon!

Pancake Tuesday - Volunteers Needed

This year Pancake Tuesday will be happening on  February 25th. If you can volunteer an hour or two (or  more) in the morning or have a griddle to lend, please  contact us.

We need people to:
  • Cook pancakes
  • Bring griddles to cook the pancakes on
  • Count out plates and cutlery for each class
  • Deliver the pancakes to classrooms (kids love seeing their parents hand out the pancakes!)
Class Skate - Volunteers Needed

During the winter months, grades 1 - 8 walk to Mitchell Field community centre for class skating. Afterwards, they warm up with hot chocolate and snacks. Parents are needed to help carry the pre prepared hot chocolate/snacks to Mitchell Field and distribute it to the students. To sign up, please contact us at cspc.stcyril@tcdsb.org

Advent Mass

The Advent Mass held at St. Edward the Confessor church was a wonderful gathering of our community. Thank you to all who attended, all the children who participated, Father Dave for celebrating a beautiful mass and our cantor, Charlie Min for leading us in song.

It was lovely to spend time with all the families at the reception afterwards. Thank you to those of you who contributed refreshments and to Starbucks at Yonge and Finch (5650 Yonge St) for donating coffee!

Calling All Volunteers

Volunteers are an essential part of helping our school activities run smoothly and effectively. The volunteer survey lists various events where we are in need of volunteers as well as general volunteer opportunities that are available throughout the year. These opportunities can be as little as a couple of hours while others can span over a few weeks/months. The survey will give you an
idea of the anticipated time commitment for most events/volunteer opportunities available. We encourage you to fill out the survey if you haven't already. We value your feedback and thank you for your time!
