St. David School Mission Statement

It is the mission of St. David of Wales Catholic School to consistently provide a safe environment for academic and spiritual growth. Rooted in Catholic beliefs and values our school prioritizes academic achievement and builds moral and social responsibility. We cultivate global citizens in a culturally diverse community, while promoting Catholic values and respect for all of God’s creations.

Dear St. David Families,

We reflect on the challenges our brothers and sisters in Southern California are facing with the recent devastating fires, and are reminded of our call to live out Christ’s message of compassion and support. These fires have displaced families, destroyed homes, and disrupted lives, leaving many in urgent need of assistance and prayers.

Among those affected are several Catholic schools that sustained significant damage. These schools, much like ours, are places where faith and knowledge unite to nurture young hearts and minds. The loss they are experiencing is profound, and it calls us to deepen our compassion. We are truly blessed that our school remains safe and whole, and we must not take this blessing for granted. Let us continue to pray for the recovery of these schools and their communities, offering whatever support we can.

Let us come together as a school community to offer our prayers for their safety and strength. Additionally, we encourage you to consider supporting relief efforts through trusted organizations. Together, we can be a light of hope for those enduring these trials. We have reached out to organizations and individuals on how the St. David Bear community can be of support. When we receive more information, we will share it with you all.

Oops! We also want to take a moment to acknowledge a hiccup in our communication this week. Our newsletter was sent out earlier than intended, and unfortunately, it contains several errors. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to refine our processes. Thank you for bearing with us!

As we continue this week, let us hold our Southern California neighbors in prayer and remember that through faith and unity, we can overcome any challenge.

Yours in faith,

Mr. Swanson & Ms. Medrano

Help for our Los Angeles Area Brothers and Sisters

A message of support from the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Oakland:

We have all seen the pictures. The relentless fires in Los Angeles are beyond devastating.

Corpus Christi Church and school were destroyed in Pacific Palisades, thousands of families have lost everything, and hundreds of thousands remain displaced and/or without power while the fires rage on.

Join us in praying for those suffering and the firefighters and first responders working tirelessly to serve their communities.
