St. David School Mission Statement

It is the mission of St. David of Wales Catholic School to consistently provide a safe environment for academic and spiritual growth. Rooted in Catholic beliefs and values our school prioritizes academic achievement and builds moral and social responsibility. We cultivate global citizens in a culturally diverse community, while promoting Catholic values and respect for all of God’s creations.

Dear St. David Families,

We would like to acknowledge Jesus Beltran, for his tremendous help during Fix the Field Day on October 20th. We apologize for omitting your name last week. We are grateful for your help with the field and the preschool!

As we prepare for the excitement of Halloween this week, let us take a moment to reflect on how St. David's mission aligns with the deeper meaning of this season. While costumes, candy, and festivities bring joy, Halloween also offers us an opportunity to focus on values that go beyond celebration--such as community, generosity, and kindness.

This week's 3-Minute Retreat invites us to reflect on Serving the Community. At St. David, we emphasize the importance of being active participants in both our church and local community. Just as saints before us have set examples of service, we are called to embody thse values through small but meaningful actions--sharing joy with others, helping a neighbor, or offering kindness to those in need.

Our mission to build moral and social responsibility is closely connected to these momenets of service. As we guide our students to be global citizens, Halloween serves as a reminder to not only celebrate, but to consider how we can make a positive impact, even through the simple act of making others feel welcome and seen.

We encourage you to take a few moments this week with your family to reflect on how we can be a light in our community, following the example of Christ's love in all we do. Together, let's embody the spirit of service--because truly, it takes all of us.

Yours in faith,

Mr. Swanson & Ms. Medrano

Get ready for a spooktacular time! Join us for our annual Halloween Carnival, hosted by the 8th grade as a fundraiser for their graduation activities. There will be games, prizes, treats, and fun for all ages!

🧙 Costume Guidelines:

Students from Preschool through 8th grade are welcome to wear costumes, but please keep them appropriate for our school environment.

- No scary or violent costumes (no blood, weapons, or horror themes).

- Costumes must meet general free dress guidelines. Shoes must be safe for walking and recess time.

- No masks covering the full face. We want to make sure your teacher and classmates recognize you!

- Let's be mindful of cultural sensitivity when choosing costumes.

We can’t wait to see everyone’s creativity on display! Thank you for supporting the 8th grade class through this festive event. 🎃

No Willows on Halloween. Students need a parent present to be at the Halloween Carnival.

To maintain safety and compliance with the diocese, all Halloween volunteers must check-in at the office. All volunteers must be pre-approved and been cleared with the office to volunteer. The office will have a list of volunteers who have been cleared and let their teacher know they will be volunteering. 3-MINUTE RETREAT- Serving the Community

In life’s search for purpose—what to study, what vocation to pursue—the answer often lies in *encounter*. We are called to meet those in need, confront challenges in our world, and encounter God’s presence. Through these experiences, we discover where and how we are called to serve.

Pope Francis reminds us that faith itself is an encounter with Jesus, and we are invited to build a “culture of encounter”—a spirit of friendship and connection. As one body in Christ, our mission through faith and education is to serve and advocate for others, empowered by His encounter with us.
