MLK MARCH CANCELED
Due to freezing weather, the MLK March is canceled on Monday, Jan. 15. The MLK Community Festival at Huston-Tiillotson University is postponed until Jan. 27.
Thank you to all who wanted to walk with St. David’s in these MLK celebrations as a beautiful tie-dyed clad group. We’ll be an even larger group next year!
We will let you know the details about the MLK Festival as soon as we have more information.

ANNUAL PARISH MEETING
Sunday, Jan. 28
10:15 a.m., Crail Hall
At this all-parish meeting, we will elect five vestry members for three-year terms, one diocesan council delegate for a four-year term, and one to serve a one-year unexpired term. The 2023 Annual Report will be presented along with plans for 2024.

TRINITY CENTER NEEDS PANTS AND SHOES FOR MEN
Trinity Center is requesting gently used or new pants and shoes for men, along with other cold weather items. Drop off donations in the large bin in the church lobby. Or donate online using Trinity's Amazon Wishlist.

YOUTH SUNDAY FORMATION

Youth in grades 6th-12th gather to encounter Scripture in new and exciting ways, bringing all our questions, ideas, and ponderings about who God is and where we belong in the world. Free donuts, good discussion, check-ins, and lots of fun.

Students in grades 6-12 are encouraged to join us for community building, fellowship, games, and silliness until we wrap up with a short prayer practice and devotional at 7 p.m.

NEW JUNIOR JOURNEY CLASS
Kids in grades 2 through 5 are invited to join us on our winter Junior Journey: Super Women of the Bible! Starting January 14, we will meet some of the daring, courageous, and faithful women who have walked with God, from Sarah to Mary Magdalene. There will be stories of danger, adventure, and most of all, love.
What can we learn about God and ourselves from these ordinary women who found themselves in extraordinary circumstances? Please join us!

Shawn Welling, Regional Representative for Plant with Purpose, will share about his organization's newest program in Malawi. Plant with Purpose's mission is to restore hope by reversing the interconnected challenges of global poverty and environmental damage. Their presentation will open possibilities for us "to search for people and places in the world that need to experience God's love."

Her topic for the weekend will be We Have Seen His Glory: Encountering Jesus in the Fourth Gospel. Dean Kittredge will retire from Seminary of the Southwest this June.

The Monday Connection is a quarterly lunch gathering at the Seminary of the Southwest featuring guest speakers sharing their stories about translating faith into works.
On Jan. 22, the guest will be Mary Emeny, a conservationist and community leader in Amarillo who has started a Habitat for Humanity affiliate there, created the Wildcat Bluff Nature Center, and chaired the Mariposa Village Community Land Trust.

175th DIOCESAN COUNCIL
Feb. 9-10, 2024
Waco Convention Center, 100 Washington Ave.
In early February, the diocesan community will convene to further the mission of the Episcopal Church in Texas. Diocesan Council can’t happen without volunteers. No experience is required. Most volunteer shifts are four hours. There is no registration fee for volunteers.
