Come & See Learn About the Permanent Diaconate


Come see and learn more about the permanent Diaconate at St. Mary Parish in Mt. Vernon on Wednesday, November 16th at 7:00pm in the church located at 1550 Main Street Mt. Vernon, IL. Applicants must be baptized Catholic men between the ages of 30 and 60 (at the time formation program begins), active in the parish, and recommended by their pastors. No pre-registration is required. All Soul’s Mass November 2nd


This Mass on Wednesday November 2nd at 7:00pm commemorates our faith family members who died this past year. Families who have received a letter about the Mass are reminded to call the rectory at 618-526-7746 to let us know who will carry the candle. All candle bearers are asked to be in the gathering area in back of church at 6:45pm (15 minutes before Mass).

Parish Council nominations were held last weekend. If you get a phone call asking you to run for one of the three positions open on the council, please consider putting your name on the ballot. Someone in the parish already believes you are a worthy candidate. If you would like to nominate yourself for this position please call the parish office at 618-526-7746. The position is for a three year term on the Parish Council.

Pancake Breakfast & Trunk or Treat


The Breese Knights of Columbus invite you to a pancake and sausage breakfast and Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 30th from 8:00 - 11:30 at the KC Hall. Dine-in - adults $10, children $5. All carry-outs are $10. Children under 12 in Halloween costumes eat free.
