Bringing People Into A Growing Relationship With Jesus Christ
St. Elizabeth Storm Update
The window walk and church sustained some water damage, we lost some trees, and the cross outside on the west side was flattened. No windows were broken, and nobody was hurt. We feel incredibly blessed!

Our insurance adjuster has been here several times and we have hired a team of people who have removed the carpet from the window walk and some of the drywall from the west side of the church. This gives us a great opportunity to add some wiring and do more investigation of the leaks.
Despite all the repair work and cleaning, we will have the church ready to celebrate Mass on Sunday at our regularly scheduled times.
Please join us!

Since COVID-19 began, we have had to get creative at the parish in offering quality faith formation! This Fall 2020 we will not be able to gather in person for most adult formation, so we want YOU to gather virtually with us! A list of our Adult Formation offerings can be found on the Adult page under the Learn tab on our website. Look them over, try them all or one that meets your needs. We encourage you to keep growing your faith this fall through praying, learning, sharing and witnessing. Reach out to Trish Lokmer at with questions!
Join Us for our Fall Bible Study

Jesus: The Way, the Truth, and the Life is a 10-week video study program and book. Anchored in the life of Christ as presented in the Gospels, this study explores the entirety of Jesus’ life—who he is, what he is really like, what he taught, what he did for our salvation, and what all of this means for us as Catholics today.

This study shows, in a simple way, how Jesus, the Incarnate God, is both fully divine and fully human—his intimacy with the Father, his revelation of the Father’s love, and his extraordinary influence on his disciples, his followers, and even his enemies.

Most importantly, this encounter with Christ will inspire and empower you to center your entire life in him as you come to know and love him in an ever-deeper and more intimate way. Click the link below for more details and to get registered.

Church Cleaning Team
Immediate Openings Available
Maybe you are looking for a ministry where you can get to know a few others in our community. Maybe you are looking for a quiet ministry where you have time to reflect as you serve. Our cleaning team offers time for both and has great flexibility for your busy schedule. This is a great family opportunity! The teams rotate, each in charge of a week during the month. Using a checklist they work through dusting, sweeping, vacuuming and other tasks to keep our space clean and bright. An irresistible environment is a big part of our authentic hospitality. If you have questions about this ministry or are interested in signing up, please contact Kelli ( or 319-393-3778).

The results from the August 4th Blood Drive are wonderful! You registered 47 donors, with just three deferrals, so you collected 44 donations and absolutely smashed through your goal of 32. Spectacular! You even had nine first timers – awesome! And get this, this was your biggest drive EVER (at least since 2013 which is how far back the system goes)!!!! So not only did you successfully have a blood drive during a pandemic, you actually set a new record. I am so proud of you and your donors!!!! We cannot thank you enough for staying with us through these INSANE times. We have never faced a challenge to the blood supply such as this and we have only been getting through it thanks to your amazing donors to step in and save the day. Thanks to you, up to 176 patients will have more time with their families.
