St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish
Bringing People Into A Growing Relationship With Jesus Christ
This weekend we celebrate Fr. Mark’s last weekend message as our pastor. The gospel parable about the sower and seed provides a good reflection for him on his years of active ministry in the priesthood. He has tried to sow the seed-to preach and teach the Good News of Jesus Christ. We, as a parish have been able to benefit from the rich fruits of his ministry! Thank you Fr. Mark for all you have done as our pastor! You will be missed.

From the Pastor - Thank You!
Thank you all for your support over the past eight years that I have been pastor. It has been a great experience for me!
I retire on July 14, forty-four years after my ordination on July 10, 1976. I retire to Villa Raphael where I will be living with fourteen other priests. We each have our separate apartments but get together for mass, prayer, meals and socializing. I will have a job in retirement! I will be the chaplain for the Sisters of the Presentation in Dubuque. I will celebrate Mass and the sacraments with them. Sister Annette Kestel is a member of that congregation.

We're celebrating Father Mark's last Mass and his retirement with a farewell parade! Join us Sunday after the 11 AM Mass to bid him farewell and to congratulate him on his retirement. Father will be under the bell tower canopy, greeting each car full of people. There will be even be Donut Land donuts in the parade!
Please enter the parking lot through the WEST Litchfield Dr. parking lot entrance and form a line. There will be members of the parish present to direct traffic. You can find a diagram of the traffic flow  here.
Our Doors Are Open!
We are continuing to require reservations for Sunday Masses to ensure physical distancing in the pews. We hope this system has worked for you. Thank you to everyone for following our instructions and working together to love our neighbors and keep them safe.

Pray
The US Bishops are urging all Catholics to respond to the coronavirus outbreak. We at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish pray this prayer every week during our staff meeting. We invite you to pray with us.

Since SEASP is a tithing parish, 5% of all our parish income is distributed to non-profit organizations. The Social Justice Committee determines which organizations receive your donations. During the last fiscal quarter, including April, May and June, the following organizations were recipients of that tithe.
Catholic Worker House - $2000
Discovery Living - $1500
Habitat for Humanity - $2500

HACAP - $900
St Stephen's Catholic Youth Center, UNI - $2200

Meal Teams at Catholic Worker House
St. Elizabeth's has an amazing ministry opportunity to provide meals to Catholic Worker House. Currently we have six teams that rotate quarterly to provide one meal a month. We have worked to expand this ministry to add a second meal each month. We know that with the generosity of our members, and the size of our parish we can grow our teams from six to eight! Maybe even 12! The time commitment is minimal. This is wonderful community building opportunity and an opportunity for families. If you are interested in helping out please contact Kelli at kdevries@seasp.org or 319-393-3778. Not sure about joining a team, but would like to help from time to time? You can check out their website here to see when meals are needed.
Habitat for Humanity Lunches
St. Elizabeth’s has teamed up with Habitat for Humanity and St. Pius X for a monthly build day. Our current combo team will work on a Saturday. We would love to have some ministers to help team up and make or contribute to lunches. While the shopping and prep may look a little different in our current reality, there is still some easy and fun ways to help out. If Saturdays don't work, there is also a Tuesday team we can help with for lunches. There is always more room on the building crew too! If you are interested in helping out please reach out to Kelli at kdevries@seasp.org or 319-393-3778.
If you still have Rice Bowls at home, they can be dropped off in the parish office during business hours, or you can bring them to Mass. Thank you for supporting Catholic Relief Services!
LEARN
We’ve all experienced our fair share of suffering during these past few months. So much about our lives has changed, and it hasn’t been easy. But through it all, one thing hasn’t changed: Jesus Christ is still with us and he loves us beyond measure. Each year teens have the opportunity to experience the Catholic faith at Steubenville Youth Conference. Like many things this year, the conference will look a little different. Instead of youth traveling, the conference will be coming to your home.  Steubenville Live will take place on July 17-18, 2020 virtually.  Please click on the link below to find out more about the weekend and to register your family.  Registration opens June 15th.
WITNESS
Congratulations to Makenzie Kreber, who will be receiving Confirmation and Eucharist this weekend at the 8:30 AM Mass. Please keep her and her family in your prayers during this exciting time. If you’d like to learn more about how to get involved with RCIA at our church or how to be fully received into the Catholic Church, contact Trish Lokmer at tlokmer@seasp.org or 393-3778.
Baptisms this Weekend

Congratulations to  Burton Carroll Hummer , son of Andrew & Emily;  Isabella Ann Marie Dudley, daughter of Matthew & Megan, and Dorothy Ann Pietan, daughter of Lucas & Amy as they join our parish family through Baptism.
Come to Gather - A Virtual Hospitality Experience
At St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, we're all about meeting people where they are and authentic hospitality. Since we can’t meet in person for our coffee and donuts, we are offering a new approach to hospitality. Join us for "GATHER - A Virtual Hospitality Experience!"

Beginning July 19th after the 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM Masses, we'll gather over ZOOM for 20 minutes and enjoy each other's company while we talk about the Sunday message.

No registration is needed. Just join us at this link after Mass: GATHER Virtual Hospitality Experience
St. Elizabeth’s Widow/Widower Friends
Our group of friends is still staying connected throughout these unprecedented times through ZOOM. If you've lost a spouse and would like to join our group of friends, we hope you'll join us for our next gathering on Monday, July 20th for our 6 PM ZOOM time. This is just a nice way to get to know and visit with friends. If you interested in joining us on ZOOM send an email to Maureen at moe5240@aol.com.

If you are unsure about ZOOM and/or would just like more information about the group, please call the parish office to leave your name and number and a group member will contact you.
Virtual Monastic Experience
Walking With God? Walk with us! The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration invite single women, ages 18 - 40 who are considering religious life, to attend a Virtual Monastic Experience via Zoom July 12-14, 2020. We hope to digitally show discerners around, introduce some of our Sisters and share some tips on prayer and discernment. The experience will include one hour of input each day. There will also be an opportunity to connect with the vocation director one on one. There is no cost to attend. Visit our website to learn more: www.benedictinesisters.org. To register, please call Sr. Maria Victoria at (660) 944-2221 ext. 127 or e-mail vocation@benedictinesisters.org.
Although we are beginning to open the church for public Masses, we will continue to schedule Baptisms individually outside of the Mass. If you would like more information on arranging a private baptism, please contact Kathy Lester in the Parish Office at klester@seasp.org or 319-393-3778.
