We are Grateful for Cabrini

At our annual dinner and auction in October, we shared this video with guests. We heard from an alumnus who sends her child to Cabrini, our principal, Caroline Koetting, and several students about what makes our school a special place. Best friends, Delio and Jordan, share about their journey learning English and getting accustomed to a new country, and 7th-grader, Marry, shares her excitement about getting to serve at mass. We are Grateful for Our Volunteers

At Cabrini, we call our volunteers "Cabrini Angels" because of the true gems they are to the school. Dr. Dave Costigan, one of those angels, comes every Tuesday and Wednesday to tutor students in math. When he's in the building, you can hear echoes of kids in the hallways saying "hi" to "Dr. Dave," as he is known around the school. A retired physician, he enjoys spending his time helping students with math, and we love having him here! When asked about why he volunteers, he shared, "Cabrini is a truly special place." We think so, too. Much gratitude to all of our Cabrini Angels!

We are Grateful for Our Teachers

Mrs. Piatchek, our 6th-grade and Social Studies teacher, is being honored with the Emerson Teaching Excellence Award this year. This annual award recognizes educators in the St. Louis metropolitan area for "excellence in their field." When asked about Mrs. Piatcheck, 8th-grader Cornelius shared, "I didn't realize I loved history until Mrs. Piatcheck made it fun for me." Another student, a 6th-grade student, Page, said, "She's very passionate about teaching, which you can tell in the way she leads her lessons." We are grateful to have you and your excellence at our school, Mrs. Piatcheck. Congratulations!

We are Grateful for Our Parents

If you haven't heard, the Cabrini Parent Organization (CPO) is back! Under the leadership of 8th-grade parent Windy Williams, this group of parents gathers to plan and connect on the first Wednesday of every month. It's been a great fall of visioning and planning, including a successful bake sale and Halloween Party. It's amazing to see our parents taking on leadership roles to support our school community. We are looking forward to an Advent concert, room parent program, and Catholic Schools Week! A big thank you to Windy, who has led with inclusiveness and vision.

We saw many familiar faces at the auction this year. To all of the alums who either volunteered or attended, we appreciate you and your dedication to Cabrini!
