Many Cultures. One Family.

What a GREAT two weeks for our first annual Cabrini Read-A-Thon! Our students were reading everywhere around the school. Because we met our goal, the whole school enjoyed an ice cream party. A huge thank you to our Cabrini Parent Organization for planning two weeks of motivating and fun activities to encourage reading.

We are Grateful for Our

Community Partners

At Cabrini, we are fortunate to partner with many incredible community organizations. In the spring, a few of these include:

These partnerships help enrich our students' education at Cabrini and create opportunities for them to explore new skills.

Basketball Champs

Our 7th-grade basketball team pulled out a win in the championship game against Queen of All Saints. It was an exciting game and a very well-deserved win! Thank you to Coach Becky Qualls, who continues to dedicate time to Cabrini sports after retiring as athletic director last year. We continue to appreciate the parents and community members who coach our children.

We have wrapped up our basketball season and are on to track and running club this March. We are always looking for more coaches and sports involvement. If you know someone or are interested, please contact Coach Carel at sam.carel@cabriniacademy.org.

ICYMI (In case you missed it)

Kindergartner, Za'Niyah, took us through a day in the life of a kindergartener this January. Check it out!

The Cabrini Parent Organization holds meetings on the first Wednesday of every month from 6-7 pm. Anyone is welcome to join. The CPO helps support our school, like Miss Windy (above) scooping ice cream during the Read-A-Thon! The next meeting is on April 1st.

Thank you to all who supported the Tamale sale in February. We are especially grateful to Cabrini mom, Sintia, who led the effort. Unless you have made them yourself, you might not know how much work goes into tamales. Over 20 hours of cooking and 15 volunteers were put into this CPO sale.

We are grateful for all the ways in which volunteers support our students. Thank you for helping us grow!

March Saint of the Month

Every month, our school learns about the life of a particular saint. This month, we are celebrating and learning about the life of Saint Oscar Romero.

"...We plant the seeds that one day will grow.
We water seeds already planted, knowing that they hold future promise...

We cannot do everything, and there is a sense of liberation in realizing that.

This enables us to do something, and to do it very well. It may be incomplete, but it is a beginning, a step along the way, an opportunity for the Lord's grace to enter and do the rest."

These words are an excerpt from what is known as the Romero Prayer, composed by Bishop Ken Untener of Saginaw. At Cabrini and in the broader community, may we continue to plant and water the seeds of growth.

What We're Looking Forward to...

  • Our 5th-grade Dance Moves STL performance in April.
  • The 7th and 8th-grade students receiving the sacrament of Confirmation on April 30th.
  • Second-grade students receiving First Communion this spring.
  • Field Day, graduation, and more!

....and next year's auction. Save the date for October 10th!
