Backpack Buddies - Looking for Volunteers
As we reorganize the Backpack Buddies program we are looking for a team of six to eight consistent, regular volunteers to serve on a committee to provide much-needed weekend nutrition to school children with food insecurity in our local community. Children become part of the program based on guidance counselor recommendations in Wilsonville elementary and middle schools.

Volunteers needed:
2-3 Shoppers to purchase food/snacks - The monthly time commitment will vary depending on how the shoppers divide up the shopping list and their individual shopping methods.
4-6 Sorters/Packers - This is a once-a-month task that should take approximately two hours on a day and time that works best for those who volunteer.
1-2 Delivery Persons - This is a weekly task involving picking up the weekly food boxes from church and delivering them to our partner schools. The time commitment is approximately one hour per week. Peggy Danford has been our delivery person and is willing to continue in this role, but it would be excellent to have a backup for her.

In addition to these regular tasks, the committee will meet twice a year to review how things are going and to welcome new ideas and suggestions to keep the program vibrant. If you are seeking a ministry that fills a local need, utilizes your gifts, and brings joy, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

New Chairs for Memorial Garden
Six outdoor, weatherproof chairs were recently purchased by our Caring Ministry using donations to our Caring Ministry Fund. We invite people to feel free to move them around to facilitate Coffee Hour conversations as well as private visits in front of graves of loved ones in the Garden. We thank Junior Warden, Betsy Yacob, for finding a quality product at an attractive price. We thank those who have made donations to our Caring Ministry Fund for carrying out our ministry's work. And, we thank Al's Garden Center for giving us a 25% discount. We also appreciate Al's for giving us bonus plant coupons which we are passing on to the Memorial Garden gardeners for obtaining more plants as needed. Thanks to all. Please enjoy.
Women on Their Own - Coffee Meet Up
Women on Their Own will meet for coffee on Wednesdays at 10am at B's Bakery in Canby (113 2nd St., between Grant and Ivy). This is a weekly event, so please come when you can.
