Our faculty and staff foster remarkable growth and transformation through their connections with each student.
Grounded in the Franciscan virtues of:
- Compassion
- Humility
- Simplicity
- Prayer
- Peace & Justice
- Charity
- Integrity
- Joy
- Brotherhood & Sisterhood
- Acceptance
- Generosity
- Faithfulness
- Peacemaking
- Hospitality
- Goodness
- Service
Community life at SFHS is viewed through a broader perspective. These enduring Franciscan principles shape a transformative experience that fosters a powerful college preparatory culture, which we refer to as “The St. Francis Way.”
Our mission is clear: to place students at the center and surround them with a supportive community led by our dedicated staff. Curious about how this environment helps students achieve their college goals? We asked our Director of Counseling, Bridget Buckley, and here’s what she had to say. “Colleges are looking for young adults who are confident, capable, and healthy in every aspect of their lives: academically, socially/emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Our Franciscan values and culture allow students opportunities when they are applying to colleges, because they have an entire community supporting their growth and development throughout their high school experiences. Every single aspect of an application is strong because each student has had support holistically. The desire by a whole community to see our students succeed allows students to build skills and high school resumes that prepare them for college applications and, quite frankly, life in general. Everyone in the building helps. Every club, sport, activity, service project, spiritual group, and even every tutoring session or conversation that happens during a student’s time at SFHS lends itself to building a strong application. Our teachers, our coaches, and our staff are all asked to help with aspects throughout the process, from proofreading essays, to coming up with creative answers to more unusual prompts, to simply giving students room to talk about their process. As a community, we afford students a wide variety of experience leading up to their application process as seniors.”

"I Am St. Francis"
The Alumni Perspective:
|
SFHS graduates are exceptionally well-prepared for success, with an impressive 99% of them advancing directly to higher education. Each year, our recent graduating classes collectively earn more than $22 million in scholarships, reflecting both their academic excellence and the strong foundation provided by SFHS. Our students not only master critical academic skills but are also equipped with the knowledge and resilience needed for success in college and beyond. Their readiness for lifelong learning is a testament to the education they receive here. And who better to share this story of achievement and preparation than our accomplished SFHS Alumni?
"When I started classes my freshman year, I already felt ahead because of St. Francis. Most of my classmates would complain about how they never really learned how to study in high school, so they felt overwhelmed and had to teach themselves how to study for college exams. Luckily, my teachers at St. Francis prepared me for college academics with their classes, so I knew how to study efficiently by the time I was a sophomore in high school. The transition from high school to college academics is always difficult, but St. Francis ensured that I was as prepared as possible!"

This new service aims to make commuting easier and more accessible for students along both train lines, enhancing their overall school experience.
