Experience the Spirit of St. Francis High School —Firsthand
| |
There is no substitute for experiencing the St. Francis High School community in person. Our Future Spartan Shadow Days provide prospective students with an invaluable opportunity to immerse themselves in the daily life of SFHS. By accompanying a current student through classes, meeting faculty, and engaging with our welcoming student body, visitors gain a true sense of the spirit, purpose, and connection that define the SFHS experience. For many, this day becomes the moment they can envision themselves as Spartans—learning, growing, and belonging within a community built on faith and excellence.
In addition to Shadow Days, we encourage families to explore St. Francis High School further through our upcoming Spartan Showcase events. On Tuesday, October 21, our Personal Tour Night will feature student-led tours that highlight our academic programs, extracurricular offerings, and the faith-centered environment that sets SFHS apart. These one-on-one interactions provide families with a personal perspective on what it means to be part of this community.
Then, on Sunday, November 2, we will host our Open House, the most comprehensive event of the fall. This showcase offers the opportunity to meet teachers, coaches, and current students, tour our facilities, and gain a full understanding of the values and opportunities that make St. Francis High School an exceptional place to learn and grow.
Whether through a Shadow Day, Personal Tour, or Open House, we invite every family to experience firsthand the warmth, enthusiasm, and excellence that make St. Francis High School such a remarkable community.
Pace e Bene—Peace and all good.

THIS ISSUE’S FEATURE:
Discover a Day in the Life of a Spartan
A Future Spartan Shadow Day at St. Francis High School offers prospective students an authentic, engaging, and personal introduction to what it means to be part of the SFHS community. From the moment they arrive on campus, students are greeted by their carefully matched Spartan host, someone who shares their academic or extracurricular interests and is eager to make them feel welcome. This warm introduction sets the tone for a day filled with exploration, connection, and discovery.
| Throughout the day, Future Spartans accompany their hosts to classes across a variety of subjects, gaining firsthand insight into the dynamic learning environment that defines St. Francis High School. They experience how our teachers combine expertise with genuine care, fostering curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking in every student. Shadows also see how students collaborate and support one another, whether it’s through lively classroom discussions, shared laughter in the halls, or teamwork in labs and creative spaces. | Lunch in the cafeteria offers another opportunity for connection, as shadows join their hosts and friends to enjoy a meal together, ask questions, and experience the camaraderie that fills our school each day. It’s often during these informal moments that visitors begin to feel what makes St. Francis so special; the warmth of the community, the respect among peers, and the sense of belonging that extends well beyond the classroom. | By the end of the day, Future Spartans leave with more than just a glimpse of student life, they leave with a sense of confidence and excitement. Many can clearly envision themselves thriving here, surrounded by teachers who inspire them, classmates who support them, and a community that encourages them to become their best selves. A Shadow Day is more than a visit, it’s often the beginning of seeing oneself as part of their SFHS story. |

"I Am St. Francis"
The Student Perspective: What Did Your Shadow Day Mean to You?

“My shadow day played a role in choosing SFHS because it gave me a glimpse into the community at SFHS. Throughout the day, I was able to see the various classes St. Francis has to offer, and it gave me the ability to envision myself at St. Francis. From the warm, welcoming smiles to the kind, caring teachers, I truly felt at home.” – Lila B. ‘28

“Shadowing at St. Francis played a pivotal role in my decision of choosing St. Francis. Being able to experience firsthand the atmosphere and the excitement that this school has to offer is what really made me want to come here. Everyone was very kind and welcoming, and I immediately bonded with people over sports and other similarities.” – Brody J. ‘27

“My shadow day allowed me to see the day-to-day life of St. Francis. It allowed me to see the community and the positive energy from all of the students, faculty, and staff. I got to meet people that I would get to know even better later on when I joined the school. The shadow day opened doors in the camps and getting more involved with all the events and experiences they have to offer at St. Francis.” – Ryleigh L. ‘28
