Earlier this year, a single mother and her three young children arrived at St. Francis House Emergency Shelter when they found themselves homeless. The mother was fearful and worried about what she and her children would experience during their struggle with homelessness and the uncertainty it brings. With the support of our case managers and client advocates, the mother felt empowered to focus on the steps needed to secure their future in a new home. A home where her children would be able to live and thrive in a stable environment, where they could play, and where they would feel safe. After one month, the family moved into their new home and are financially stable and self-sufficient once again. We love happy endings, especially when they create new futures for the women and families with children we serve.
