Thanks to you, we are able to provide the resources necessary for
homeless women and families with children to survive and thrive.
Success Stories
Our Arbor House program provides communal transitional living for single women and women with children. This summer, we had the privilege to assist one of our families at Arbor House to secure the resources needed to move into permanent, stable housing. This family has been with us for over a year and faced many difficulties before even arriving at Arbor House. The family first came to St. Francis House Emergency Shelter when they realized that their rental home was unsafe for habitation. After being at St. Francis House for a few months, the family moved into Arbor House. We are excited that with the support and services the family received from case managers at St. Francis House and Arbor House, they were able to obtain their new home.
Earlier this year, a single mother and her three young children arrived at St. Francis House Emergency Shelter when they found themselves homeless. The mother was fearful and worried about what she and her children would experience during their struggle with homelessness and the uncertainty it brings. With the support of our case managers and client advocates, the mother felt empowered to focus on the steps needed to secure their future in a new home. A home where her children would be able to live and thrive in a stable environment, where they could play, and where they would feel safe. After one month, the family moved into their new home and are financially stable and self-sufficient once again. We love happy endings, especially when they create new futures for the women and families with children we serve.
"They are helping me and my family so much with case management services and referrals. I am so grateful and appreciative of everything they've done to help my family during these hard times."
