THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3!

Francis Episcopal Church is happy to welcome Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for our annual St. Francis Day Pet Blessing this Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 9:30. (We'll be under the oak, or else under shelter of the breezeway if it rains.)

Whether furry, feathered, or scaled, all pets are invited to participate. Pet photos and stuffies are also welcome.

Saint Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals and the environment because he is known for his love of all creation. Around his feast day, October 4th, we bless pets as a way to mark this day and honor his spirit. Because St. Francis also cared deeply for the poor, we will also be collecting pet food on Saturday for the Denham Springs Animal Shelter. Come join us!

FANS@THE FALL FEST EMAIL NOW to reserve your fans! Pick up at Saturday's Pet Blessing or contact Rev Maggie.

Come to the Denham Springs Fall Fest on Saturday, October 3 to promote St. Francis Church and our upcoming fall events. (If rained out, there is a Chili Cook Off on Mattie Street on 10/10! Tailgate? Block party? You can evangelize anywhere!)

We have a couple hundred fans to be distributed.

As you pass out fans, introduce yourself, invite each person to our 10am Sunday church service and our Pumpkin Patch.

Our fans were a hot item last year! You've got what people want--not just the fans, but this amazing church community we call home, and the loving God who calls us together! Come get in on the fun!

EMAIL NOW to reserve your fans and pick up at Saturday's Pet Blessing or contact Rev Maggie for Friday pickup.

Ministry Moments at St. Francis

At our annual retreat, our vestry determined that this year's goal would be to better incorporate all who join us here into the body of the church. St. Francis Church has many opportunities available for service in worship, and outreach, and leadership in fellowship activities.

Where might you put your talents to best use? Begin to look around and join in prayer to find the place God calls you to serve.

See our 2026 Ministry Brochure here

Come help be the community God calls us to be!

Benefits of volunteering. Volunteering is an opportunity for spiritual growth, time to build fellowship, to help others and love without expectation, to make a meaningful impact in our community, and witness firsthand how our collective efforts render a positive change and deepen a sense of social responsibility. It becomes a ministry of presence, your presence, our presence together for God.

The Path: A Journey Through the Bible by Melody Wilson Shobe & David Creech

It's never too late to join in! Available as PDF here.

WEDNESDAY EVENINGS

at 6:30 pm

The Wired Word Discussion Group lessons show how the Bible is alive and applicable here and now.

Each week a Bible study lesson will be emailed out to those who have signed up to participate. (If you want to pick up a printed copy instead, call the office, and we'll have one ready to pick up.)

Sign up or respond here to have lesson mailed to you on Sunday to prepare for our Wednesday evening discussion.

Your help is needed for the success of the Pumpkin Patch. Pumpkin Patch is not a fund-raiser, but a friend-raiser! This 3-week sale is an outreach to introduce the community to our church. We need 2 volunteers or more per shift. Sales may be slow at some times, and busy others, but your presence is always important! Training and assistance will be provided! Please sign up!

Retreat Opportunities! Registration closes 10/6 for Women's Creative Process Retreat. See more at www.EDOLA.org
