Help Keep St. Francis' Campus Beautiful!

While the weather kept us from scheduling a spring Church Work Day, both the weeds and list of tasks continue to grow! Turfmasters keeps the lawn trimmed, but all other landscaping has been done on a volunteer basis. These 3 acres are a green and growing haven of peace.

Our garden beds are now available for adoption! Some areas need weeding, trimming, and mulching; others require weeding only. Some beds have space to plant annuals. The campus map, with sections numbered with a spot for your name, is now posted in Jackson-Magee Hall. Please consider taking on a piece of this beautiful property we have been blessed with. If you would like to adopt a section, but are unable or prefer not to to do the physical work, we are looking into arrangements for financial sponsorship. Click here to see list and map.

Have you ever wanted to read the Bible but found yourself bogged down by complex genealogies, repetitive laws, or confusing timelines? You are not alone. Join us for an epic adventure to experience the Bible not as a collection of assorted fragments, but as a single, sweeping narrative of God's extraordinary love for humanity.

The Path: A Journey Through the Bible by Melody Wilson Shobe & David Creech

It is a 24-chapter book, but since each chapter stands alone, missing a week won’t leave you behind—you'll be able to jump in anytime.

The book is available from Forward Movement (here), many online booksellers, or can be ordered locally. It is also available as PDF here. Rev. Maggie will have 3 second-hand copies available, contact her to reserve yours.

WEDNESDAY EVENINGS

Are you interested in seeing how the Bible is alive today, applicable here and now? The Wired Word Discussion Group may be just what you are looking for!

Each week the leader chooses one of two different pre-prepared Bible study lessons, and emails it out to all who are interested in participating. (If you want to pick up a printed copy instead, call the office, and we'll have one ready to pick up.)

Each lesson is based on a current news topic with an article compiled from reputable sources and includes Bible verses, biblical commentary, discussion questions, and additional reference materials. All is based on the foundations of Christian faith and shows how faith is lived out in the world. Your weekly preparation generally takes less than an hour, and we plan for an hour's discussion.

Spend some time creating, and make a service-member or their family smile! Read the info on this project above, then download and print the bookmarks to decorate, or pick some up after church in Jackson-Magee Hall. Attention acolytes, and those who would like to investigate this ministry! Bishop Duckworth and Dean David duPlantier invite you to the 4th Annual EDOLA Acolyte Festival! Held at Christ Church Cathedral, NOLA Aug. 15 beginning 9 AM. Light refreshments provided; 11:15 AM: Holy Eucharist. Come enjoy a time of conversation and sharing with Bishop Duckworth and other diocesan acolyte leaders about this important ministry of service to God’s people. space is limited so please register as soon as possible to secure a slot.
