Faith Formation

RCIA Looking for Adult Catechists
Are you interested in becoming a part helping someone on their faith journey? St. Francis of Assisi is looking for Adult Catechists who would like to be a part of our RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) program. Our RCIA program for the coming church year will begin in September and run through the Lenten season of 2020.  We are looking for volunteers who are interested in the following opportunities:
  1. Leading a once a month discussion based on the teachings of the church (we use the text: This is Our Faith, by Michael Pennock)
  2. Assist with our communications efforts (publicizing our RCIA program, weekly emails to the candidates/catechumens, updating our parish on our program, etc.)
  3. Serving as a point of contact for Sponsors (soliciting volunteers to be a Sponsor, helping Sponsors with understanding the role of a Sponsor, etc.)
  4. Social Committee (helping our Candidates and Catechumens feel a part of our parish)
If you feel a call to become a part of our Adult Faith Formation program, please come to a meeting on Sunday afternoon, June 30, at 3 pm, or Sunday, July 14 at 9 am in the St. Thomas classroom. For further information, please contact Deacon Tom at tacoffey@mindspring.com , or call 770-403-8109.
