Elijah Cup Prayers for Vocations
Our parish has a beautiful ministry dedicated in prayerful support of vocations - The Elijah Cup Ministry.
The Elijah Cup is a consecrated chalice taken home for one week, rotated at each Mass.  There is also the monthly chalice given at every First Friday Devotion Mass.  Each carrying case comes with a chalice, instructions, a selection of prayers, Rosary, book, and spiritual journal to share the experiences felt while praying for those called to religious life.
A receiving family or individual displays the chalice in a prominent place at home and prays for an increase of men and women called to religious vocations:  priests, deacons, seminarians, sisters or nuns.  Knowing that you are praying for them will lift their called hearts ready to serve or to continue as our spiritual leaders bringing us closer to God.
We always need families and individuals to pray for vocations.   What a blessing ...so let this chalice journey to your home and t hank you for the prayerful consideration!
Please look for the sign-up sheet in the narthex.  For more information, please contact:

EVERY 40 SECONDS, SOMEONE IN THE U.S. IS HAVING A STROKE!

Stroke Scan Plus will be at Saint Francis of Assisi on October 29 & 30, 2018   to provide
life-saving, wellness ultrasound screenings.  It is important to perform preventive maintenance for ourselves yearly.  Do you have high blood pressure or high cholesterol , diabetes , or a family history of heart disease , stroke , abdominal aneurysm or internal cancers ?  If so, do not miss
this opportunity for early detection of a possibly serious disease.  These screenings are typically NOT performed at your annual check-up, and insurance companies may not pay for them unless
you are symptomatic.  Diagnostic versions of these screenings cost thousands of dollars in a hospital.  Stroke Scan Plus will be offering them to you for  $159  for all 8 combined ultrasound screenings (Stroke, AAA, PAD, AFIB & organs).  Insurance is NOT necessary and appointments
are limited.  Stroke Scan will be available at the church for you to register on
October 20 & 21, 2018  or please call 1-866-935-7226 to schedule an appointment today
for you or a loved one.  Prevention is your key to quality health!  www.strokescan.com .
