The Weekly Word
Set us free, O God, from the bondage of our sins, and give us the liberty of that abundant life which you have made known to us in your Son our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Prayer During this Time of Transition
As we continue the work of listening to God to discover His desires for St. Francis, let us pray:

Gracious Father, we pray for thy holy Catholic Church. Fill it with all truth, in all truth, with all peace. Where it is corrupt, purify it; where it is in error, direct it; where in anything it is amiss, reform it. Where it is right, strengthen it; where it is in want, provide for it; where it is divided, reunite it; for the sake of Jesus Christ thy Son our Savior. Amen. (Book of Common Prayer Page 816)

A Note From Deacon Tamara

In less than two weeks we will be in the season of Lent. It starts with Ash Wednesday on February 14 th . There will be two services for the imposition of ashes: one at 12:30pm and the second at 6:00pm. There will be no music or Eucharist.

I was asked by the Vestry to provide a Lenten program. I reviewed several options and after a time of prayer and discernment, I decided to have a one-day Lenten Retreat as opposed to a weekly Lenten program. We recently went to one service on Sundays, so we could all be together during this time of transition. A one-day Lenten retreat, on a Saturday, gives us the same opportunity for unity and togetherness.
I have chosen a seasonal resource developed by Living Compass. Living Compass is an organization created by an Episcopal Priest, Scott Stoner, whose focus is on wellness and wholeness. The theme for the retreat will be on Loving with All Our Heart, Soul, Strength, and Mind . There is, as their booklet states, "nothing more central to life than loving." During this time of transition and season of introspection we are called to "radically incarnate love in how we relate to God, our neighbor, and ourselves." We are called "to both give and receive love with our whole being."

The day of the retreat is Saturday, March 3rd. The location is the St. Francis Parish Hall. It will begin at 8:30am and end at 3:00pm. Lunch and all materials will be provided, without charge. I hope you plan to attend. Please sign up with Frances so that I have accurate count for lunches. Also let her know if you have any special dietary restrictions. I will do my best to accommodate them.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind. - Luke 10:27, Deuteronomy 6:5

Please consider, just 3 1/2 hours a month and we will put you on the schedule.

ST. FRANCIS CHOIR: "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!" Notice the passage does NOT say we have to have a beautiful voice to praise God! We are looking for new choir members. We practice at 9:30am before we sing at the 10:30am service. So come join us!
